This is a really small place tucked away in Berkley Heights. The owner was very kind and attentive. He and his daughter checked in on us throughout the meal. For dinner we ordered the fried calamari ($8), duck salad($12), pork larb($10), drunken noodle($14), and the pra graw paw($16). We really enjoyed everything except for the larb. We didn't realize that it would be served cold. Other than that the food was pretty spot on.The place has a modern look and is clean. I would definitely recommend coming here for a casual dinner.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in this county! I’m a huge Thai food fan and always like trying different spots. Though Proud Thai has a minimal indoor dining area I enjoy the flavors of the dishes I tend to order, including pad krapow (Thai basil chicken), pad Thai, etc. They also are able to make the food at Thai spicy level! Which I don’t typically order but I prefer a hot/medium usually. Over the main COVID shutdowns I came here once or twice to order out and the food was just as good. Highly recommended.

Proud Thai is legit and we should be proud to have such amazing Thai food in the Berkeley/New Prov area. Hot means hot here and everything is fresh, cooked to order and so incredibly delicious. We’ve been a few times for takeout and it’s always consistently excellent. If you’re looking for Thai food in the area can’t beat this spot. 10/21: Food is still terrific, always prepared to order. My sister taught in Thailand for a year and LOVED this place.

We have been a loyal customer of the place for several years, mostly ordering takeout sometimes dine in. I decided to dine in, tonight and unfortunately, the experience was EXTREMELY disappointing.

Food is ok regular thai food. Nothing special. We supported the place since it is local hometown restaurant and we are asians as well. But i had a very negative disappointment experience tonight.

Service Issues: Our table was left cluttered with used chopstick packaging and empty water glasses. No one came by to clear these items or offer a refill, or offer to pour the water like a proper sit down restaurant.

Lack of Attention: Despite not being there long and only eating half of our meal, no one checked in to see if we were enjoying our food. Instead, the waitress simply asked if we were done when we were still eating, i still have spoon in my hand which led us to decide to take the remaining food to go. Such a disappointing place.

Inconvenient Payment Process: When it was time to pay, I was ready with my card before they came with the bill, and when the cashier lady came by with the bill tray I offered my credit card, but the staff member left it on the desk and pointed me to use a machine at the front. The explanation given—that they didn't want to pay for a card reader fee—was confusing and didn't seem accurate. Because they can simply take the card to the front and do the check.

Overall, the combination of these issues made for a very unsatisfactory dining experience. I’ve always enjoyed supporting this local business and Asian food, but this visit was so disappointing that my family and I will not be returning or recommending it...

Was charged full price for food with chefs hair in it! When I first started going here it was a great experience. The food was very good and the place was quaint. Service was good and I was ready to make this a regular place for me. However I went here for dinner on sat night and was very disappointed with my experience. The dining area was cold and the spring roll appetizer was fried but still cold on the inside. The pad Thai was good as usual but the drunken noodles were sub-par and the vegetables were underdone. The final straw which has ensured I will NEVER go back is the fact that I found a hair in my food which was very clearly not mine or my friends...we both have long curly hair and this was short, black, and clearly a mans. I brought this to the attention of the owner and all he did was offer me iced tea to go....it's winter and I had already eaten half the meal. I was charged the full amount for my dinner which as far as I'm concerned is inexcusable. I have worked at multiple restaurants and never once has a costumer had to pay for food with hair in it. I thought this was simply common restaurant procedure and I left feeling disgusted and ripped off. I will never go again or recommend it to...

Food is fine, Nothing to write home about. The service is absolutely awful. I took my family there on a Saturday evening and was expecting a decent night out. The restaurant was busy and the owner was trying to push ppl as quickly as possible to leave. No one was asking for the bill, nor asked if they wanted dessert, instead the owner would quietly bring the bill over and place it on the table. I asked the owner multiple times to please stop trying to rush us, but he would not stop. When we ordered our entree, he said - it will take a long time, so you should order now. We placed our order and our food was on the table within 5 min. Within a few min, our bill was on the table. While we were eating, he came several times to see if we had paid the bill. I just paid the bill and because my kids did not get a chance to finish their meal, I took them for some food somewhere else.

I would not recommend this...
