I am so impressed and pleased with the staff and services at The Art of the Arch & Aesthetics in Berkeley Heights, NJ. I recommend them to anyone curious about permanent makeup. Having my eyebrows done has been on my wishlist for well over a decade or two but life intervened and I continued to put it off. I have moved from place to place and continued to search the web for examples of elder white-haired women who have tattooed eyebrows. I am a fairly nervous perfectionist and had a great deal of trepidation about having something so permanent done to my face. I recently moved to NJ and kept looking for white--not gray haired women before and after pictures which are far and few between. When I came across the website of The Art of the Arch & Aesthetics, I knew I had found the place to go and signed up for my consultation right then.
I had a consult with the stunning, creative and talented founder and owner, Noel Del Viscio. She is an impressive entrepreneur who followed her passion and started her own business. The setting is tasteful, impeccable, friendly and professional. Noel patiently listened to my many concerns and explained to me her client selection criteria and design decision making process. Given my health concerns, she wanted to hear from my physician that I was healthy enough to have this process with no reactions. I was a little disappointed but respected her genuine concern and integrity. I was able to provide that and happily made an appointment to go ahead. Noel is kind, caring, and so knowledgable. She explained what she intended to do and went about doing it. She gave me great confidence in her expertise. She showed me that even though I had been considering this for years, I do not know anything and I ultimately trusted her creativity, standards of excellence, and taste. I am very happy to have known the right place to go when I saw it and to have had the pleasure of meeting such an impressive business owner as Noel. Everything she does, from marketing, to mentoring, to building client relationships; she does with passion, purpose and excellence. I have completed my initial consult and my first session with my follow-up to come. As a white-haired woman who has been applying my own eyebrows for years, every time I catch sight of myself with natural looking eyebrows, I am so happy and more confident. My biggest fear was I would regret doing something so permanent to my face, but the whole process and the result was sublime. I can't wait for my follow-up session. And I look forward to getting other services in the future. They...

Read moreI had lip blushing done by Noel, the owner and permanent makeup artist at Art of the Arch Aesthetics in Berkeley Heights. I went in wanting a soft, natural-looking lip revival and clearly told her I didn’t like warm tones. The consultation and appointment are all together. It felt rushed—she only swatched two (at the same time) very sheer colors that looked more like gloss, and I wasn’t given a real opportunity to choose or approve or most importantly be in love with the final shade. It was quick into the tattooing.
During the procedure, she discouraged numbing cream, saying it doesn’t hurt. But tattooing your lips is very uncomfortable. Very spicy feeling. It’s frustrating that she insisted on that approach when she herself has no permanent makeup and can’t truly understand what the pain feels like. She doesn’t believe in that look for herself.
What was especially upsetting is how the situation was handled afterward. Instead of taking responsibility, Noel suggested I contact her trainer, Carla from Perma Blend (the distributor of the pigment). They offered laser removal—but the specialist is based in New York City, which is extremely inconvenient. That’s not a real solution, and I felt completely brushed off. I would never get back in her chair again.
The outcome is extremely disappointing. It’s so much pigment. My lips look blotchy and uneven, with parts of the liner missing color entirely. The shade is way too bright for me—I barely wear makeup, and now I feel like I’m stuck with a heavy lip stain 24/7. I don’t feel like myself anymore.
This was the most expensive option in the area, and I chose it because I didn’t want to skimp on something so permanent. I regret that decision. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re looking for a thoughtful consultation or a natural result. I’m amazed there are so many...
