Since the owner replied that they have no record of me coming in, thought I’d help by posting my bank transaction. This seems to be a trend of the shop for posts they don’t like. Instead of being so defensive work on the receipt. Most of the negative feedback is on the taste and texture of the bagel. I believe my review was very fair.

Went back for a second time to see if I was wrong about their bagel quality since the owner blamed me for not toasting the bagel. I’ve always been taught that you don’t toast a fresh bagel but hey could just be preference. Anyways unfortunately for me I was right. The bagels TO ME are not good. I got a breakfast sandwich and toasted the bagel and I’m just not a fan of the bagel quality. They’re very dense. I went at 6am so I’m assuming they were at their freshest. The person who welcomed me who I assume is the owner was very nice and welcoming. Price point was fair. I wanted to buy a Diet Coke but all the bottles were expired...

“The works” breakfast sandwich was real fresh and good. I also ordered 2 asiago bagels untoasted. The bagels were some of the worst I’ve had. They are dense, cold and hard. I’d recommend sticking to the sandwiches.

My reply to the owners reply. In order my bagels untoasted everywhere I go. Also idk giving your service and atmosphere 5 stars was a “bad” review. I rated y’all 3 stars as in average. Also complemented your breakfast sandwich. Maybe actually take honest feedback back and make some changes in your bagel recipe. I get I’m hard to please. We spend good money when we visit small businesses. I deserve quality everything. If your food sucks I’m going to say it. If your service is great I’m also going to say it. Lastly I was never questioned or advised to toast my bagels. I would have rejected the offer but just want...

I was in a rush so I called ahead to place my order and was told I could pick it up at 9:15. Upon arrival, I was unsure whether to wait in line or proceed to the counter inside since they have a limit on how many people can be inside due to COVID. So I called again to ask what they wanted me to do and was told to wait in line with everyone else. So for the next 25 minutes I waited and when I got inside the rude woman behind the counter told me it was MY FAULT for not just walking in despite me being told otherwise on the phone. She gave me cold bagels (because they'd been sitting on the counter for 25 minutes) and no sympathy.

This was my favorite bagel shop in Berkeley but after the awful customer service I won't be coming back.

My bagel wasn't even wrapped, it was just half-heartedly thrown into the bag. Thanks,...

Our go-to place for Bagels in Berkeley (well, it is named Berkeley Bagels!). My favorites are the Seed City and Everything Bagels ... and often get a double toasted bagel with butter, and a great container of juice. They take credit cards and prefer cash (that way they don't have to pay the credit card transaction fee.) It's conveniently located a block from our favorite dentist, Dr. Kurtz and across the street from Westbrae Beer Garden and Coffee Conscious. I recall they have bakers' dozen (13 bagels for the cost of 12). It's a nice break so sit on a chair, under an umbrella, and nosh. #Berkeley #Northbrae #NorthbraeWestbrae #Westbrae #Restaurant
