This Office Depot has everything you want: friendly staff, excellent customer service, and a great selection. The store is huge by Berkeley standards, clean, and well-stocked with everything you need. The manager Nate is kind, funny, and helpful. He’s a problem-solver and warm with clients and staff. The cashier Navin is efficient and always prioritizes giving the customer the best experience. Victor the print supervisor is brilliant and experienced, and goes above and beyond with creativity to help people make their marketing and events truly special. Cassandra is dedicated, kind and detail-oriented. Livia goes out of her way to make clients feel special and taken care of, and she can put a smile on anyone’s face with her service. Richard is extremely skillful and solving computer problems and finding the right technology solutions for the home or business. Andy is extremely knowledgeable, affable, and routinely goes out of his way to help customers get just what they’re looking for. Brenda is a great listener and can help clients all over the store. Scotty works hard every day to keep the store well-stocked, organized, and running smoothly, and he brightens the store with his smile and great singing voice. Angela is dedicated, diligent, and a great storyteller. Deandre has charm and humor and will turn a first-time visitor into a repeat customer. All in all this is a excellent store with great staff. Shipping via USPS or FedEx is super convenient and much easier than at the post office. Printing documents, flyers and more is convenient. I had excellent, very attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient help from Jimmy and his manager Navin yesterday, 5/16/22. I went in and walked past Jimmy who was arranging merchandise. Another person asked him something and Jimmy helped him quickly. I then asked about an item and he knew exactly what I needed and took me over to where there was a display of various types. He also pulled it up on his hand held device and showed me what the item (a big, dry erase wall calendar/planner that was rolled up in the display) would look like when unrolled. He also took me to find the type of low odor dry erase pens that are best for my needs. I was able to find everything that I needed quickly, as my husband and I were on our way somewhere and I just ran in. Furthermore, Navin helped me at the front and when I told him how much I appreciated the excellent service he told me that Jimmy is a great employee and that the whole team is dedicated to giving outstanding service. All we wanted was a decent office chair to replace the defective chair we purchased here a month ago. They would not attempt to fix it, as over 30 days had passed, so we decided to simply purchase a new one.

We were repeatedly pointed to a selection of chairs that we were informed we could take home as-is. However, each time we chose one of the items in question, we were informed (after a wait) that said item was unavailable for one reason or another. We were ultimately told that, in fact, only a cheap mesh-back chair was available for us.

We were then told that they could not spend any more time on us, as it was now close to closing time, and told us to leave.

We are not difficult customers, and we came in happy to spend money and with a simple request (a chair). We left frustrated and without making any purchase.
