2 stars only because i think the OTHER PEOPLE in my party enjoyed their food (wings)...
Been here several times. I don't eat wings, so can't vouch for what is SUPPOSED TO BE what sets them apart from other bar/ restaurants in the area. Any time I've gone (maybe three times in the past two years), their other food items have been awful.
*First time - had a cheese steak. Very dry, bland, roll tasted old and dry. French fries not very good quality/ taste. Sandwich had no flavor... *Second time - had crab cakes and fries. Crab cakes okay, but got a piece of shell halfway through, so stopped eating them... *Third time (just recently/ last week)- tried crab cakes again (benefit of the doubt) and got shell with the very first bite. Then more shell with second bite, then AGAIN with third bite!?! I gave up and ate just the fries which tasted better this time, but were extremely/ overly salty.
Waitress wasn't very attentive during our meal even though they weren't busy. She did remove the crab cakes from the bill when we complained about them, so I just added that cost to the tip for her.
I won't go back, even with my "wing-eaters". Unless you eat wings, it isn't worth the trip. This last trip though, noone even ate their wings and took them home in a "to go" box, so I'm not even too sure about that much.
We went right about dinner time on a Saturday (just in case the timing makes any...
Read moreI usually never have issues with Van Reed. I used to go every weekend when Leshane was working and always had a great time. As of late, I have gone to Van Reed when Sammy is bartending and I will not go anymore. She was rude to multiple customers including my friends. When I went on March 16th, we went at a time when barely anybody was there and were shooting pool. Not causing a scene or commotion at all. People started showing up and she began to be rude to customers and even cut off my friends who were sitting at a high top, not slurring their words or showing signs of intoxication. She closed out my tab on the wrong card when I told her not to use that one. She was also drinking behind the bar and it is not the first time she has done that either. Then we returned on April 6th, I saw Sammy being rude and getting loud to a server and cussing about customers that were sitting at a table (who she moved from the bar so her friends could sit there). And continued being loud and rude toward those customers. She refused to let those customers close out their tab with cash and made them pay on a card. She got mad at the customers for wanting to start a tab with the server whose table they were sitting at. She is very unprofessional and my family and I will NEVER step foot in that establishment or spend a single dime if...
Read moreWish i could give 0 stars. The rude waitress needs a hearing aid or they need to turn down the awful music. Seriously there were 6 people in the whole place and none were listening to the garbage except maybe the dishwasher/cook. Order2 cheesesteaks 1 with fried onions. The rude one streamed back at me that she's "never heard of that" after a few back n forths she thought I said "red onions". She went on to explain that they normally come with pickled onions to which I immediately asked for no pickled onions as that sounded horrendous. After way too long of a wait since we were the only 2 that had ordered food in the whole place the rude one brought us the SLOP. The yellow government cheese that was halfass melted had already cooled and coagulated. Not only did they both have onions but they were the pickled onions and they tasted way worse than imagined...and the term "steak" needs to be permanently erased from the vocabulary of anyone associated with this establishment. The SLOP should be renamed "The Slingblade" due to the fact that they use potted meat. To be in the "vicinity" of Philadelphia and refer to that Potted Meat SLOP as a cheesesteak is a disgrace! And to the...
