The food is pretty good my gripe isn't with that. I guess I'm just a little soured from the last time I went there. I had ordered a really extravagant waffle, Belgian I think, with pecans and blueberries. A couple minutes go by and the waitress that took my order came back to tell me that the waffle machine was broken. I understood and just asked if I could get a pancake instead, this time without the pecans because I don't think it's normal to ask for both toppings and felt bad making them put both on for me. So I get the pancake and it was delicious, then the bill comes and it read to be over $20 I believe (I ordered a meal to go with the pancake). What stuck out to be was the $8.00 item on the bill. I thought maybe it was a mistake so I asked the waitress if it was correct and she said it was. I was confused because I remember reading all the pancake options on the menu and none of them were over $5.00. I'm not one to make a scene and honestly it wasn't a big deal so I payed the amount and left. I think what had happened was I had gotten charged for the waffle even though I ended up getting a pancake. I'm sure it was an honest mistake and a rare occurrence as well. Don't let this deter you from trying it out, because the food is very good, I just though I would share my...
Read moreJeannie's House is not your typical small town diner.
It is a place of rest. The equivalent of finding shelter in a storm.
No matter what trials and tribulations you may be enduring, no matter what new chaos has ensnared the world today, you can walk into Jeannie's and forget it all.
The atmosphere is quiet but joyful. Though the dining area is small, it doesn't feel cramped a bit!
Occasionally the quiet is replaced by the sound of cheerful, warm waitresses dropping by to top off your coffee and see how you're doing. They are genuine, kind, and really care about your experience!
It goes without saying that the food is superb. How could the food be bad in a place like this? It would be completely unexpected! You walk in to this cozy, friendly environment where you are greeted with kindness, and then served bad food? It's just not going to happen!
Though Jeannie has passed, her loving and warm spirit lives on through this place. So when you come through - leave a big tip, cover another table's tab if you can, be generous! - because this is one of the few places left where you are treated like a human and we should seek to...
Read moreI called prior to my visit to place an order and was placed on hold for over 15 mins. My assumption is that she was busy and forgot I was on the phone. I decided to just drive to the diner and just order there. No one spoke when I walked in so I just sat down at the bar area. Once seated a very nice older lady asked if she could help me I proceeded to let her know I called but was forgotten on the phone and that I would like to place an order. Her response was oh she’s busy she’ll be right with you. Almost another 10-12 mins later the lady finally walked up to me and said what can I get you. Mind you I was never offered a menu, coffee, good morning, etc. I told the woman my order and she asked if that was it. I said yes and she put the order in. I mentioned to her my order was Togo since she never asked. My order was made incorrectly and instead of correcting it they just added the incorrect item to my original order. I finally get back to work and start to eat and whoever cooked it put a ton of salt...
