The restaurant is a very modern, well lit, and clean pizza joint. The servers greeted you right away and were very friendly. They have 4 person booths that's are very spacious even for the thickest person. They even have a cute crayon box and "kids" activity sheet to keep yourself busy until the food gets there. We waited about 15-20 minutes for our main dishes to come out. The appetizer was brought out by surprise after five minutes. When they bring the food out they use a giant tomato sauce can for the pizza stand which I thought was neat for repurposing pizza items. They have 2 TVs that are very big and visible from every seat in the restaurant. The bathrooms are very clean. It gives a classic father and son vibe but much brighter and cleaner. It's was very cozy and enjoyable the whole time. We got a complementary bruschetta, which was phenomenal. I'm not a big fan of tomatoes and they made me want to ask for another one. I'm kicking myself in the butt for not asking. The tomatoes were diced to a nice comfortable bite-size with freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and basil. It's the simple things that make a difference. We ordered the bone-in chicken wings that were the crispiest wings I have ever had. I would put these wings in my top three next to birds nest in Chicago IYKYK. The wings were perfectly coated in the sauce and they had a respectable amount of meat. This place also serves a ranch cup that is finally the correct size. It was definitely enough for two people. The ranch is really good and thick and not that watery nonsense. We also ordered a half cheese half sausage Torino 14 inch pizza. The pizza dough was super fluffy yet crispy on the bottom. It's very light to texture with a sweet taste. The pizza was nice and saucy, which complemented the amount of pizza dough. They use a high-quality mozzarella, which is obvious in the video when you look at the cheese pull. For dessert we got the double chocolate cake. It was super super chocolatey and refreshing. It is very rich so please be aware of that. The wife and I were craving chocolate and our craving was fulfilled within 2-3 bites. They also served it with a giant strawberry and considerable size of whipped cream. The food here will bring us back time and time again because it was that good. The most important part of our visit was our server. Mae was amazing and so attentive to everyone in the restaurant. At one point, she had four tables and was bouncing back-and-forth between tables and kitchen without skipping a beat. I have many years in the restaurant industry and watching her work and navigate through the restaurant was very impressive. she is so friendly, so polite and a model for every server to follow. The manager and the owner of this restaurant needs to see what gold they have. My wife isn't easily impressed by people anymore since she works in the service industry, and she was blown away by her attitude, professionalism and accuracy to detail in every table she served. She's gonna go far in the service industry if that is her dream. Thank you Mae if you are reading this. I was the guy with all the Diet Coke refills. Our overall experience was a perfect dining experience. This is our new local pizza spot and we have been ranting and raving to all our friends and family. I can't wait to get back in there and try something new and the...
ย ย ย Read moreMy husband and I recently discovered this cute local pizzeria not far from us, in Berwyn. They have unique tasty pizzas, friendly welcoming staff, casual relaxed atmosphere, and decent background music! :)
We've been twice now, in just over a month. Both times, the nice friendly owner came out to chat to us and brought us a complimentary bruschetta appetizer. :)
This time, we shared the "star burst" salad. (Romaine lettuce & spinach, strawberries, red onion, candied walnuts, orange segments.) This was great - very fresh ingredients, and served with nice hot garlic bread.
Last time we went with our kids, we shared the Garlic Parm Fries appetizer. (Fries tossed in garlic parmesan sauce.) We absolutely devoured these - they were so hot, fresh and tasty!
Also last time, we had the "Romano" pizza: (fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, fresh garlic, light pizza sauce, topped with EVOO and a fresh tomato mix) and "The Carbone" pizza: (meatballs, roasted red pepper, ricotta cheese crumbles and mozzarella). "The Carbonne" was quite unique. Both were very yummy.
This time, we had the "Kansas City" pizza: (grilled chicken, tangy sweet BBQ sauce, bacon, red onion, cheddar, and mozzarella.). This is exceptionally yummy!
All their pizzas come in two different choices of crust - Tavern (thinner) or Torino (thicker). We got a mixture of both styles, so we could compare... Personally, I love the Torino Style, slightly thicker crust. It's not deep dish, but it's a lovely thick crust that has a great taste. (Reminds me of Paisan's pizza). Those who prefer thinner crusts will enjoy the Tavern Style.
The owner tells us they are looking forward to opening up a patio seating area in the spring/summer. We look forward to...
ย ย ย Read moreI had high hopes going in, and my expectations were exceeded throughout my entire experience.
I came in with two others, hoping to find a new local spot to enjoy. We wanted the full experience, so we ordered a Torino pizza fitted to what we liked best, and ordered some appetizers. Even before receiving the food, I was impressed with the excellent service, and overall flow of the establishment. The owner also came out to greet us and make sure we were doing fine, while also checking on all the other patrons.
Now for the food The garlic bread, meatballs, and garlic Parmesan fries we ordered were each savory and unique in their own way. While enjoying the fries, one of the staff even came up to offer us anything else we would like, such as ranch (which we couldn't turn down). Moving on to the pizza, it honestly has to be one of the best in the area. I am a big fan of crunchy on the crust, and the cheese pull was one of the best I've seen. We were all so full from the appetizers and food already, but our wonderful server Lola surprised us with a desert on the house. We tried the Tiramisu and Cheesecake, which both hit the spot with my sweet tooth. We may have been treated this time, but I will definitely be back again to order that cheesecake, and hopefully to greet the wonderful staff again.
TLDR: This is a great new/revamped local spot that anyone in Berwyn absolutely has to try. I can tell there is a lot of passion from everyone on the team, and I hope to see new faces enjoying...
