The Garage Smoke House & Bar — Restaurant in Berwyn

We are usual customers. This year has been my 4th time coming with a big group. We never encountered any problems with the food or the waitress/bartender. Yesterday they took quite some time to get to our table. My friend went to get the menus and the barbecue sauces on the tables. When the waitress arrives we start giving our orders. Of course, since we were a big group of 19 we knew the food would take some time. When our food arrived one of the waitresses started giving attitude because people wouldn't respond quickly and on one of the orders I had to snatch the tray from her so she could stop with the attitude. I know it's not an easy job but even so, you still have to be nice. That's what is customer service. Nobody wanted to ask for more plates and spoons since only 5 were given and most of us drank water because no one wanted to order pop after. One of the waitresses told my friend to order in advance next time. But we have never had a problem before. And the other waitress explained to me the reason why it took so long. Something about how much meat they take out a day she said it was common sense. I'm like to myself how could it be common sense.. we have no idea how they operate with the food for the restaurant. So how is it common sense? As I said we've been coming in big groups and this is the first time we've gotten that treatment. Also, we cause other customers to have their orders late. How is that our fault? They did apologize for forgetting to give us tableware and that it took so long. To us, we didn't care that it took long because we knew it would happen. But it still leaves you...

I wanted so badly to like this place. The first time I came here there were seats at the bar and service was ok. Not great. Just ok. The second time I came here the service was awful. The only reason I came back was the decent prices on food and drinks. The food is ok, again not great, but worth the low price. The service is absolutely dreadful. The bartenders are clearly hired based on "assets" other than their skills in customer service, that is clearly evident. The bartender even knew my service was bad and tried to make up for it with a free beer. No. I can buy my own beer. I come out for SERVICE while I'm watching a game. One free beer does not make up for an entire NBA game length of being ignored and neglected by the bartender. The place is so convenient for me that I decided to give it a 3td try. And again service comparable to horse excrement. This time I actually called out the bartender for the horrible service. I was met with nothing but excuses. Even on my 2nd visit, the bartender who gave me a free beer had all the excuses.

I wanted to like it, I really did. But this place is garbage. It's not the patrons' problem that there is only one bartender serving the bar and the floor. And I wasn't born yesterday I know it's because they don't want to share tips.

This place needs to get it together. Oh and they don't clean the bathroom properly.

They put too much salt. We ordered mango shots and last month, the shot glass had chamoy and tajin, the waitress we had was nice and kept coming asking if we needed something else. This waiter brought our mango shots with a little bit of tajin sprinkled inside, wow. I had to motion for him to come so we can order appetizers and in the end, had to get up myself for a takeout box. The icing on the cake was in the end and I was very upset about not getting an actual receipt. The waiter kept saying that they charge an estimate. I don't agree with this service. People need to see an actual receipt of what was consumed. I didn't make a fuss because I was with a friend and my kids but, I'm old school and I kept asking for an actual receipt. I was not happy with this service, they need to change this estimate thing. I don't know if we were overcharged. I asked the waiter twice to return my son's credit card because I was paying since it was his birthday and my friend's and now we have to keep checking because I honestly don't know if maybe we were charged twice. He didn't bring it until the end which was very odd. No, I do not...
