Read moreI've been eating Italian beef sandwiches ever since I came to Chicago in 1997. You can say that I am a connoisseur of Italian beef sandwiches. I drove past this place and saw the billboard across the street that had an advertisement for this place saying that it was voted one of the best sandwiches in Illinois. I was quite skeptical but of course it was quite the enticement to try one of their sandwiches. Two days later which is today I had just the normal Italian beef dipped with the giardiniera peppers and I was pretty blown away.
Two things I would improve upon this sandwich though... more giardiniera peppers, and the meat was a bit too shredded. Imagine however that this place probably has some level of inconsistency just like any other restaurant and perhaps this sandwich is better as I've described on other days. Oh... and it actually wasn't dipped enough I'm not sure if they actually dipped it actually. When I say dipped I mean dipped. Not to complain too much though it had enough of the juice in the bread to make it worth it.
Course I'm nitpicking, the truth is that their sandwiches are still far better than most of the places I've been to all over the Chicagoland area.
The fries were perfect! these are real fresh cut potato...

9/17/17 Uh oh I ordered a Combo sausage/Italian beef with large fries then a Fish sandwich (no tartar sauce) with small fries. The order taker seemed like she was paying attention to the customer before me for some odd reason than taking my order. When I finally got home I had only a Combo sausage/Italian beef a Fish sandwich (no tartar sauce) and a large order of fries. No separate order of small fries at all. Obviously Sunday is not a good day to go.
The BBQ Beef is recommended goes Great with the Pizza Puff and fries! Easy parking and quick customer service. I went back because I really wanted to try three items: Hot dog onion rings and the chili. I got a small chili and it was fantastic, not too spicy and not bland. The Onion rings were cooked just right and were good dipped in the chili. The hot dogs themselves were seasoned and topped correctly the Chicago way, but the bun was hard so it kinda put off the...
