El Mezcal Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bethalto

I ordered 2 carnitas tacos dinners to go. It took an hour for the order to be ready. I was told they ran out of cheese dip and were making some. The cheese dip I got was lumpy. I told the waitress that I wasn't asked if I wanted rice or beans when I ordered. (online menu said rice or beans). She told me it came with both. When my order was ready, I was given only beans and I glanced down at my Ticket and saw an extra $3 charge. I asked why and she said that my order came with neither rice nor beans but she added beans for $3. When I reminded her she said it came with both rice and beans, she just shrugged her shoulders and said "oh I was wrong". I told her I wanted rice more than beans, she went and got me 2 orders of rice. She was still going to charge me $3 for the beans. I gave her back her beans and told her to take the $3 off of my bill. Poor service, poor pricing and ridiculous amount of time to wait. Won't be going back...

We arrived and was seated pretty quickly and she asked what we wanted to drink, then a half an hour later she came to the table and gave us drinks and then disappeared for 20 mins. A man from the kitchen brought our chips and dip. When she came back she had our chips and dip which was extremely late and we had almost finished what the man from the back had brought 20 minutes ago. We had to ask for our menus because it seemed they had forgotten about us. Our dink cups were empty before we even had ordered and our server didn't refill them until our food had arrived and hour later. And yet it only got worse our food was over cook.. Actually burnt on the bottom and it gave it a bitter scorched taste. I'm not eating there...

The good was not bad but the salsa was WAY too spicy for my pallet(it had a great flavor from how little i could taste before my mouth was set aflame). I know that's a personal preference, and I have a very low tolerance for spicy food but my husband usually loves it and even he said it was way too hot for the average person, so i wanted to share in case someone else like me is not prepared and can't handle it . I wish I would have caught our waitresses name, she was working her tail off, the only person there from what we understood, with at least 12 tables. And she was still able to keep our water glasses full (which I was exceptionally grateful considering my mouth...
