I’ve never been insulted in a restaurant before, but they say there is a first time for everything. Upon arriving we were asked if we wanted to dine inside or out. It being a 90 degree that felt like 105 eating inside shouldn’t have been such an issue…if I only knew. Instead of siting “inside” in the air conditioned portion of the restaurant we were escorted back into what could be described as your uncles backyard shed. My short attention span had me distracted by the nice view. The waitress came quickly which was nice and brought waters. That would be the last time we were awarded such courtesy. The first thing out of her mouth was do you want something from the bar. Which I mean we did so we ordered 2 spike blueberry lemonades. Thank almighty Odin they were strong because I don’t think I would have made it the rest of the ordeal. We ordered “crabby fries” which were about 16$…this was pretty much fresh cut fries and crab dip that tasted like it was from the royal farms cooler down the road. I ordered a burger and fries but asked to substitute the fries for chips. The waitress made it seem like this was no issue. For a second I thought the waitress was my ex because I never felt so ignored in my life. The burger came with fries and not the chips I ordered. I mean what did I expect, it’s called crab cake factory not Burger King (I won’t get into the astronomical price of the pitiful crab cake they are so famously known for”. You know what? I was fine with the fries because those were at least half decent. The burger was good as well. But where’s the waitress? I haven’t seen her since she took the order. Right now I’m dying of heat stroke in the “VIP lounge” just wanting to drive directly into the ocean for the sweet relief of death and trying to keep cool with the quickly melting ice cubes in my cup. I’m listening to the others crammed in to the cattle coral complaining about the same thing so I know I’m not overreacting. I’ve been done for about 20 minutes now and still no sign of the waitress. 25 minutes and she comes by, I look like dried up SpongeBob at this point and she asked if we want dessert…heck na…I’ve never left a restaurant so quickly and so disappointed. Please please do yourself a favor and be very cautious going here. Maybe it was just a bad combination of things, or maybe that’s how it’s run. But words cannot describe how unwanted I felt here. Overall 2 stars…2 “drinks” 2 burgers and 1...
Read moreWe frequent the area and have never made it to Crabcake Factory yet so we were excited to try it. Our party of 10 visited on Saturday night and were split into two tables in a side room.. which was totally fine because we realize our party was large and it is a busy early summer weekend. Upon arrival table 1 ordered and received their drink orders. Table 2 never was asked if they want drinks after receiving waters. We ordered a couple apps at each table and they were received in a timely manner. Our tables both ordered our food and table 1 received their food shortly after the apps. Table 2 ordered 4 crabcakes and received just the side salads at that time. We finished the salads and continued to wait and still no food and no mention of the status from the server. The other table finished their food and was shocked to discover we were still waiting. The waitress overheard the other table’s surprise that table 2 didn’t have food yet and said “oh you know that got apps and side salads, it’s coming”… but never actually said anything to our table that was waiting. Still continued to wait and then finally the waitress came up and admitted they gave our food to the wrong table and that our food is coming. We waited almost an hour from the time we got our apps to when our food came at almost 9pm at this point. We were with small children and had to ask them to box it to go. Not one offer of maybe taking an app off or sending over a manager (we were polite and patient the whole time and meanwhile the new table in our same room was being served free drinks because they made “extra”.. their server seemed excellent). In hindsight we could have asked for the manager but didn’t want to chance our food being mishandled and were just done. We get home and opened the food to see that this was one of the crabcakes they gave us. At this point we were super upset as we just spent a lot of money to just bring back food to our house that was cold and poorly presented. I called the manager to discuss and he had no clue this happened and didn’t even seem sincerely apologetic, saying there was nothing he could do now and we should have gotten him. Maybe.. but the server could have maybe alerted him when she knew what happened. And to say there is nothing you could do is a cop out. Never ever will visit CCF Bayside again and would not recommend to anyone. Very...
Read moreHave been by here plenty of times over the past couple of years, but met some friends there for the first time tonight. The hostess was wonderful, thought we were going to be a party of six and since one of the people was having a birthday, we were hoping to be able to have a table close to the window or a water view, but since we've never been there before we didn't know if that was possible. She couldn't seat us right away because our entire party was not here, but she said I got you and when the rest of our party arrived she had a six top ready to go for us. Turned out our friends left their kids at home and there was only four of us. Again she says I got you, and put us at a table right against the window. Fabulous start!
I had the surf and turf Burger, I ordered it medium / medium well and it definitely came out well done. Could I have said something? Yes. But it did not taste dried out in the least and the crab dip on it was so freaking good there was no need to ask for it to be redone. A messy Burger is a good burger, and this one definitely fit the bill. Had to be one of, if not the best surf and turf Burger I've ever had. love the fries, I hate when I go someplace and they are the coated fries or the crinkle cut...these are the real deal.
Hubby had one of the rice bowls and said it was really good. Our friends both enjoyed their dinners also.
We will definitely be back as we'd love to try some of the drinks (saw coconut crush on the menu, gotta come back to try it).
Only negative was that out server never came back to see if we needed any drink refills and we (hubby and I for sure) had empty glasses well...
