Kowloon Village — Restaurant in Bethel

As a local resident it saddens me to need to write this review. The taste of the food is amazing but the very rude service and lack of consideration left a bad taste in my mouth. We ordered food from them and was told to come back to pick it up in 1 1/2 hours. We understood they were busy so that was fine. We go back at the time they told us and they made my husband wait an additional hour for the order. They did not offer an apology or explanation...not so much as I am sorry we left you waiting for an extra hour. They just tossed the bags of food on the counter and quickly ran in the back room. How much more effort would it have taken to say "I know your food is an hour later then we quoted you and I want you to know we are very sorry." Had that happened, I would not be writing this review. After the inconsiderate way the situation was handled I will never buy from them again. Totally...

Kowloon is my nostalgia go to place. I grew up eating here, had a bridal shower here 14 years ago now, the owner Sue would remember my order when I use to be able to come here often, it was like home in a restaurant. Everything was delicious from the pupu to the snow chicken, but my usual order is the appetizer combo of my favorite things: the chicken teriyaki, boneless spare ribs, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. But switching it up sometimes for the steamed dumplings, the general tso chicken, or the hot and spicy soup with the tofu and mushrooms - I mean everything you try is always so good! Ate here after skiing. They told us the wait would be a while so we waited and waited and....waited. Food took almost an hour and a half. Didn't get water or serving spoons with the dishes. Ordered sezchuan shrimp and the sauce was sickeningly sweet and vegetables were soggy. Also ordered salt and pepper chicken which was worse than frozen chicken nuggets with a little salt sprinkled on it. When I told the waitress it was terrible, she said "oh really? Well no one really orders it." We were so hungry so we ate but so dissatisfied. Will not return. Would give 0 stars...
