I am not a vegan but I eat Vegan Treats because I am allergic to dairy (butter, animal milk, cream cheese, etc.) and I love baked goods.
Overall, I think Vegan Treats is a great place that makes pretty and tasty treats but there is room for improvement (things I dislike about Vegan Treats). Their prices, I think are fair for the labor and ingredients used.
They could show customer appreciation by marking down a cake flavor of the month ($1.00 off so $6.25 for the mini cakes) or do a stamp card for the ice cream - buy 10 get one free or 50% off. For the loyal customer following they have - they could do something. A birthday club - free something on your birthday.
This review offers things I like about Vegan Treats, things I dislike about Vegan Treats, and brief insight into vegan baking.

Vegan Treats Dislikes
Lack of vanilla cakes (Only 2 I know of confetti and coconut) Cheesecakes - taste like tofu (Raspberry Coconut - best one if you want to try a cheesecake) Inconsistency - to the credit of Vegan Treats - they are very successful and hardworking but I think they have a quality control issue. I buy the confetti cake more than anything because I prefer vanilla cake but the texture varies, the amount of sprinkles varies, and a few times it tasted like flour - like the batter wasn't mixed properly. Knowledge of counter staff - if I ask about what is in one of the desserts - more often than not the person I ask has to ask someone else what is in the dessert Size of the plates if you eat in the store - they are too big for small desserts Management is not the friendliest - Vegan Treats products speak a lot for themselves and they make people happy. I think it's unfortunate that such a great product isn't backed by people that radiate the same happiness as their products. There is a disconnect there. I'm not sure what it is but Vegan Treats is a top bakery and I think a top bakery would be kind to everyone and anyone that entered their because kindness to customers is good for business.
In summary, Vegan Treats offers a wide array of delicious vegan baked goods.
About Vegan Baking
Vegan baking is the same process as traditional baking but the products are swapped out to use ones that don't come from animals (the premise is based on the treatment of animals and not using them as a food source - ie. animal's have rights, too).
The same is true for gluten-free baking. The process is the same and products are swapped out. So in vegan baking, for example, almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk, are used instead of cow's milk.
Cornstarch and water instead of eggs. Coconut oil instead of butter. Maple syrup instead of honey.
In gluten- free baking, flour made from wheat is swapped with coconut or almond flours. Note - gluten - free baking - would still use cow's milk and eggs. It's not vegan unless otherwise noted.
For the most part, vegan and gluten-free baked goods taste the same (if not better than regular baked goods).
Again, the only time I think this is not true is when tofu is used in cheesecakes -I am not a fan.
Sometimes vegan cheesecakes are made with cashews and these taste way better in my opinion.
In essence, vegan baking and regular baking produce delicious sweets with different...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided a late night treat was in order. Being vegan, we decided on Vegan Treats, in which we frequent. We checked google, as most small businesses have changed hours due to recent events, and it showed that they closed at 9pm. We were stoked because it was 7:45 pm at the time. Living just down the road, we arrived at 7:55. Since they only allowed one customer in at a time, we waited behind one customer in the outside line. An employee came to the front door and placed his assumed curbside order on the table. He gave her a tip and he took off. We waited for the customer inside to come out. The same employee came to the door and said "sorry we are closed" after having waited a few minutes and behind a customer, we were really confused. Served one customer, had another in store, and we assumed that they were still open for an hour. She proceeded to say "I know it shows we are open until 9pm, but we aren't"
Not only were they still serving customers inside and out, but we were there before it closed at 8pm, despite what Google hours said. There were NO other customers behind us and there was not even an offer to still serve us being that the hours were incorrect, we waited, we were there before they closed, and we were the last customers. There was no apology for the miscommunication or offering to serve us, despite the incorrect hours and being the last customers.
Needless to say, the lack of customer service and professional courtesy will prevent us from continuing to support this small business. If we could rate 0...
Read moreI have enjoyed their baked goods for a while and never actually visited the store UNTIL this past weekend. LET me tell you DONT be deceived by the delicious goods because the STORE is FILTHY, Their was MOLD on the ceiling in many places, the shop floor was filthy, from what I could see the back where the bakery makes their treats was filthy... WORST yet? THE STAFF OMG WHAT A HORROR... The staff dress FILTHY, their appearance was hardly professional even for a bakery. They didn't even wear aprons let alone rubber gloves. When I asked the guy who was serving me for a cake that was in the front of the tray he got MAD at me and said we can ONLY give the first one that comes out! I said wait I'm about to drop $100 bucks on stuff and I can't pick my cake? THAN he took the tray out and slammed it onto the counter top... HOW the other cakes didn't break with the force he used was unbeknownst to me... THAN he continued with a PUSS on his face let me tell you making it the most unpleasant experience... FURTHER we drove 2 HOURS to finally experience the store to a HUGE disappointment. Frankly after they packaged everything I was inclined to walk out but I didn't. However I did complain to the manager who had a puss on her face too and was looking to argue back with me - I thought she was going to punch me or something... I told her that customers should be better respected and treated and that she better clean that place up! EWWWW Will I...
