We drove out of our way to dine and drink here. A patron is sitting down to a fresh grilled burger. The air in this cozy place was filled with char burger smell. We all are starving and happy to meander off the highway, well....happy for a second. I announce to the bartender, for the three of us, we are here to eat, drink and be merry! "The grill is closed", was her reply. Nothing more. Not "well I can help ya with two out of three", or...any thing else I can do ya for. Good gosh, the cook is standing there cleaning up the grill 20 minutes early. Really??? It's not worth a hundred dollar tab to make up, offer, three more simple burgers? She doesn't say another word, nor did we. Oh that's not true. Headed out now, I told the patron with his fresh-grilled to enjoy it. I know, it wasn't his fault, tho... jealousy just got the best of me. "Merry" is to walk out and report that some supposedly "hard-workin' folks" can be quite dull, pretty rude, and definitely NOT inviting, truth be known. Who owns this place to allow $profit$ to walk...
Read moreI stopped in Big Timber on the way to Billings to have a drink and get something to eat. I went to The Grand but the kitchen wasn't open. I decided to go see if the Timber Bar was serving food and was given the best Bar experience I've had in Montana. The food was delicious- BEST bar food in Montana. I was expecting the usual mediocre food but was surprised to find there were several choices of more than the usual burger and fries. I highly recommend the shrimp skewers and the jo-jos were exceptional. My steak was cooked perfectly and the salad was fresh and tasty not stale like it is common to get at a bar. The beverage selection was extensive and I think they had just about anything anyone could want. The staff & owner were super friendly and respectful. You could tell the owners take a lot of pride in the place and what they are offering. Definitely stop here if you...
Read moreWe absolutely loved this place! It was a great little bar with a really awesome, small town vibe. We came for prime rib night (Thursday) and my husband and I split a prime rib. It was delicious and the gravy was to die for. I highly, highly recommend that plate - especially for a couple, as there was plenty of food to share.
At the restaurant, there is a photo booth where you and your family can take pictures together for free and have them emailed to you. That was really fun. They also have games in the back. I didn't play any but they looked fun.
Over all, I definitely recommend this place. We will likely be back during our stay...
