Ayutlense Family Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Bingen

The service at Ayutlense is so warm, welcoming and attentive. I really enjoyed the food, it was super tasty. I had a Cadillac margarita and a combo enchilada and taco plate. The server started our table with some fresh, homemade chips and salsa with ice cold water. The chips were served warm; the chips and salsa were so yummy. I kept eating them both even with my meal. The Margarita was huge even though I got the small. It was strong but still refreshing. I liked it a lot. The combo plate that I got was the "Chico" combos but was still quite large. The enchilada was a huge red one, shredded chicken. The taco was a pork in green salsa crunchy taco that was so flavorful and satisfying. The highlight of my meal was the rice and beans on the side of the combo plate. The refried beans were savory and the melted cheese gave it a good contrast with creamy meltiness. The rice was super delicious, garlicky and perfect texture of not too wet nor dry. I kept using their homemade chips to scoop up the beans. I ordered by phone. I ordered a dish for 14.95. They ask what kind of tortillas. I want corn. I also order 1 bottle of coke. I get there and and my total is 26.05. I look at the receipt and they charge me 19.95 for my plate instead of 14.95. I show them, they say, oh its because we make ur tacos for u instead of just giving u meat and tortillas. I live on a very tight budget. That WAS NOT OK. If I call and order something dont start asking a bunch of questions so u can up the price. For instance? " do u want the tortillas on the side or do u want us to make ur tacos"? The price difference is 4 bucks. NO, I dont appreciate that and I WILL NEVER order food from u again. Ive been buying food from here since it was called Fidels, then los reyos, now whatever its called but its went down hill and I consider it a big rip off. 26 bucks for 1 person?? No way. My family and I were driving home from vacation, and found ourselves ready for dinner in this tiny town. We stopped in for a bite and were SO impressed. The restaurant is large, beautifully decorated and very clean.

Our waitress was SO kind. We were immediately brought warm chips and salsa, and our order was brought out very quickly. The food was absolutely delicious.

My one and only complaint is that the rest of the waitstaff stood in the center of the room and awkwardly stared at us while we ate. Were they eagerly waiting to see if we needed something? Were they hoping we'd leave so they could close? Was it just very obvious that we were out of towners? No clue!
