Murphys Family Watering Hole — Restaurant in Bingen

In town for a weekend visit. Nice country style. Felt like I was back home in a restaurant of the foothils of Colorado. Waitress was very patient with us. My wife and I went down for a beer and fries and planned to take back dinner for us and my parents who came on the trip with us. The confusion of trying to get my senior parents order figured out over the phone wasn't easy. She helped walk us thru options and gave suggestions. And when my mom called and changed her mind, we were able to catch the order in time and adjust. She did it all with a smile even though we couldn't have been the easiest of customers. The plate of fries loaded with everything except the sink were great. Very generous too. Almost could eat my dinner. We all loved our food. I was really impressed with the smoked brisket on the fries and rueben sandwich. Potato salad was also very good. I love pickles. And I mean all styles of pickles. They included a perfect match of pickles for their potato salad. I come thru White Salmon about every 6 months. This is definitely my favorite place now. I don't know what took me so long to drop down to Bingen and try their good food. I wish I was coming through sooner.

First experience here, came in and there were only a handful of tables sat. Flow was confusing as there weren't any signs as to wait to be sat, pick a table, where to place to go's. There were only 2 people working the dining room, I was ignored for a good 5 minutes, then handed a menu before the guy walked off again. It was hard to tell who was staff and who was not. He returned and took my to go order, was told that it would be about a 25 minute wait. That's completely reasonable. I waited outside for about 25 min and then returned to the resturaunt where I waited another 40 minutes to get my to go order. Lots of people standing around drinking with not much room to get past people. Staff seemed overwhelmed though they must have only had 10 tables and a few to go orders. When my rood finally came up I was only brought a portion of the order, when I asked about the other burger she showed me what had been written and the man that took the order didn't even write it down. Ordered an Murphy burger with a side of macaroni and cheese and the macaroni and cheese noodles were hard and chewy from being old and not covered well in a walk in or possibly not covered at all asked for a manager or owner was told there was none my first and last visit to this place I would definitely say steer clear form here and don’t waste your money on inedible macaroni and cheese and tried to get a refill multiple times and was ignored so it definitely was a horrible first impression to pay 18 dollars with tax on half my food bieng inedible and the staffs attitude of oh well means there food safety attitude is oh well too the health department should inspect and probably shut this place down and was still charged full price for garbage I...
