I was tired of these chain pizza. Been looking around for some delicious authentic pizza from small business owners around the neighborhood and came across Sal’s pizza on my way home. Today was my first time trying Sal’s out and I have to say, its the best one I ever tasted in the Birdsboro neighborhood.
I ordered the St Sals Pizza and a Lg cheese pizza. Gotta try their home specialties and the classic regular to get an understanding of what Sal’s about.
Pizza is cooked well. I’m sure they’re known for cooking their pizza to the crisp and I love that. Barely any flop when you hold the slice. The moment you take a bite on the tip, you can immediately taste the freshness of the ingredients. I’ll be honest, I was a little overwhelmed. Goes to show how long I’ve been away from an actual pizza. I love the rewarding experience when you eat from the tip to get to the crust and you get a really great crunch on the crust.
What I will criticize on is the pizza is a bit on the oily side and it doesn’t help compliment the crisp on the bottom of the pizza dough. But does that mean I’m saying their pizza is soggy? No! I noticed that their was an aluminum foil underneath the pizza which I surprised me because most pizza places just use regular thin baking sheets. Thin baking sheets?! Forget about it. Sal’s out here using aluminum foil to protect their product. They aren’t playing around here.
If I have to give it a rating, it’s a 7.7. The aluminum foil is a good idea to help prevent the pizza from getting soggy from the oil. It’s a good pizza. Sometimes I get that mix feeling of what a pizza should taste like or maybe the pizza is a bit ambitious. If you’re looking for that quality and care, you should...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of indulging in what can only be described as the best cast iron pan pizza I've ever tasted from Sal’s Pizza Style. From the moment I sat in the truck with the box on my lap, I was captivated by its enticing aroma.
The first bite was a revelation. The crust was thick yet light, achieving that ideal balance of crispy on the outside while remaining soft and chewy on the inside. It had a delightful buttery flavor that complemented the rich, savory tomato sauce beautifully. Speaking of the sauce, it was homemade, bursting with fresh herbs and spices that elevated the entire pie.
The cheese was another standout feature, a generous layer of gooey mozzarella that stretched with each slice, adding a comforting creaminess to the experience. Sal’s doesn’t skimp on toppings either; we opted for ricotta & meatballs, and each slice was adorned generous portions that added a nice kick to the overall flavor profile.
What truly sets Sal’s Pizza Style apart is their attention to detail. The cast iron cooking method not only enhances the crust but also ensures even cooking, giving each bite a satisfying crunch.
Overall, my experience at Sal’s Pizza Style was nothing short of exceptional. This cast iron pan pizza truly redefines what pizza can be—delicious, comforting, and perfectly crafted. If you’re a pizza lover looking for a memorable meal, I highly recommend paying a visit to Sal’s; you won’t be...
Read moreIve ordered sal’s 4x now and have NEVER been disappointed. Everyone who works there has a amazing personality and makes it feel like home. They have some of the best wings I have ever had. Nice smooth mild/spicy sauce. Their pizza is thin and almost melts in your mouth and the crust is actually editable. And this post is being written because I thought it could not get any better but they surprised me again. There cheesesteak is so good I couldn’t put it down. As a person who lived in philly and tried almost every cheesesteak spot around, there cheesesteak definitely impressed me. Thank you sal’s for...
