The prices have gotten outrageous!! Our meal, for 2 people, used to cost about $28 ish, with tip close to $34ish. No problem right?! How in the heck has it skyrocketed up to $45, no tip, for 2 meals that used to be $12-13 a piece!?!?!??!?! I asked the server, who was calling out last names, and she said that some things went up by .50 cents. Cool, I completely understand businesses still need to make money and I'm ok with a reasonable upcharge. How is it, that I look at my receipt, our meals went up by $5.00?!??! No offense, for the meal itself, isn't worth $18-$20 per person.
In response to the owner: Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt anymore. Also to add that it was the 2nd time that our order was about $40-ish-$45, which became a concern to me. However, the order was placed through the phone at the bar. I ordered a Chicken Fajita, sub the chicken with the Vegetarian Tofu Sausage (which would add a charge of $1.50 which makes the order $15.00) and then fish tacos were ordered as well, which on your menu states $9.75. That totals to $24.75 × 10% sales tax = about $27.22 to $28.00. That night we stood in line and paid. I asked for a copy of the receipt. After I spoke with the waitress (she was wearing glasses, possibly reddish dark brown hair pulled up in a top knot, was wearing a black punk/thrash metal band tee with black cut off shorts. Had a wedding ring. She was the one I asked the question too.) I then scanned over my receipt. The chicken fajita sub tofu sausage was a total of $18 or $19 (including the +$1.50 sub charge) and the Fish tacos were just about $15 to $16. Which made it about $35 alone. Plus sales tax, would be $38.50 and we added a tip because this is someone's source of income; and I'm pretty sure I left a...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant a number of occasions and generally have a great experience... up until now. The bartender working the night of 2/25 was by far the rudest person I have ever encountered in casual dining (or in restaurant service period). A friend that I was with made a mistake when ordering her food and requested that her order be remade without beans. The bartender proceeds to ask her "are you sure you don't want to eat this one? Would it kill you to eat the beans? Can you eat around or pick them out?" Ma'am!! She made a mistake (which I was more than willing to pay to have it redone) Just ask the kitchen to remake the order with no beans, and everything will be cool. It could've been very simple, but no... she proceeds to try to force the plate until we just say forget it, we will just have drinks. I still had a food order waiting to come out. We asked her what kind of tequila they had available. She replies sharply "just look at the wall." At this point, I'm fed up with her attitude and I say "now hold on, all this isn't necessary." She replies, "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to her" as she turns her back to me. At this point, I'm furious because I did absolutely nothing to deserve this level of disrespect. Any lesser of a person would've probably handled that situation in a completely different way than I did. I just decided to cancel our entire order and leave. You let a $70 -$80+ tip paying customer walk over a SCOOP OF BEANS! If this is the acceptable treatment of paying customers by the staff and/or management, then I promise that I will NEVER spend another...
Read moreI gave a glowing review of this place several months ago, and got a big thank you reply from the owner... but recently my encounters with your staff have been less than professional and condescending and quite rude actually. Got completely ignored the last couple of times I ordered take out. Employ some people who aren't mad they were ever born okay. Had two rude encounters with that tubby blonde guy server already. Was snickered and laughed at by the main cook who appeared to be the Latino partner who owns the place, the guy I think gave me the thanks on my last review, who then stood with his back turned to me for a few good unnerving moments after he got my order ticket, and then made it a point to stall in getting my order, which was just a couple of already prepped side items I could have gotten immediately. Threw the order on the pick up counter and said nothing. I was the only customer there at the time. Everyone walked away leaving me alone. I went to grab my order and go, when one of the walked away servers came from out of nowhere and nearly knocked my order out of my hands trying to bag it for me, only to take a subtlety scolding tone about approaching to the pick up counter. Careful who you all up a decide to be petulant immature jerks to. Very disappointed and offended. Don't waver on the food quality, this place already has two strikes from poor service and infamously filthy seating. Something I did forgive. Not...
