Los Amigos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Birmingham

Horrible experience. My friends and two kids went into this establishment on 4/26/2025 around 6 pm and they were crowded. My friends and I were standing at the entrance counter for about 15 minutes without anyone greeting us. An older guy with a white los amigos shirt was wiping down the menus and did not acknowledge us. A couple of another race came in and stood behind us and the guy asked them if they were next and I turned around to look at them and I said you know they are not next. I told him you are not going to overlook us as if we were not here. He proceeded to look at me with a smirk on his face. I let him grab the menus and walk and I replied I hate the fact that you think you can treat us that way and we still spend our money in your establishment. I told him I will never eat there if he treats people that way and we walked out.

It's time out for racism and I'm sick and tired of ignorance. I made this post to shed light that people do not have to spend money at your establishment. It's a blessing to have people wanting to eat your food. You never know who you may encounter and the person you mistreat may actually be a God sent blessing. That was the 1st time that has ever happened...

Terrible service from the moment I walked in. The food has gone extremely downhill and they have raised the prices and cut down the portions. Since their move I have visited this spot a time or two and it was ok, nothing crazy but after this last visit this family will not be visiting again. Not only with the service absolutely terrible but the audacity from the man working up front was shocking. Unfortunately I forgot my mask and politely asked if they could supply one as they had a box readily available sitting on the front table to where he replied snarky back saying I would have to buy it from them or I can go somewhere else. His response took me aback, I’m not refusing to wear a mask, I am politely asking if they could supply me one of their generic blue paper masks as I did not have one on me. But instead he had a terrible attitude and then ignored me. This experience totally rubbed me the wrong way. Simply my family and I will graciously take our business elsewhere, there are numerous businesses in the area, especially Mexican restaurants that took a hit from the pandemic and I would love to be a patron for...

The man who took my order was rude as can be!!! He rushed me on the phone as I called in my order them once I got there after the 20 min wait time I was told on the phone I had to wait some more! He skipped me in line to take people's payments who had already ate!!! To top it off when he brought my food to me he was looking on my phone as I was writing this review and made the comment as he walked off "oh he was rude"! I said to him "yes you were rude"! And as a matter of fact let me speak to your manager!! I also requested his name which he refused to do and not one of the servers would say who the manager is!!! I can hardly believe people who depend on tips and customers to patronize their establishments acted this way!!! OMG I will be back tomorrow! Not to eat but to file a complaint with the management!!! Just totally disrespectful....and ALL OF THIS BEFORE I COULD EVEN TASTE THE FOOD TO SEE IF IT'S GOOD OR NOT!!!WOW.....will never eat...
