👎 Wasp Infestation, I got stung!

I walked inside for a chai and a chat with my girlfriend and walked out with (thankfully, only one!) wasp sting!

After my girlfriend and I walked Black Diamond Natural Area, we decided to try a new coffee shop and this place looked cute. Immediately when we walked in, I saw what I thought were two horse flies. Flies are not uncommon in a coffee shop, so I brushed it off. We ordered our drinks and sat down. After some time, I noticed the flies were actually yellow jackets. I’m not afraid of bees, so we kept on chatting, thinking one or two had just got inside from the drive through window.

And then I got stung just sitting there!

In the 5 minutes it took me to realize I had gotten stung (first experience), to then making sure I wasn’t allergic, to checking out the welt in the bathroom, my girlfriend killed FOUR with her boot.

I wasn’t able to try any food or drinks because they don’t sell smoothies as it claims on the google platform. The owner said they bought the place in January and changed some things. I drove out of my way to get my kids smoothies before school and breakfast sandwiches and waited in line inside and once I ordered I was asked if my things could be made after two more cars went through first. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the time to wait when I had already waited to order. I ended up driving even further to Panera and got great service and no wait as well as good ingredients for my kids. I love to boost ratings and shop and help local businesses, but this was an unwelcome experience and we won’t try it again based on how we were treated and mislead by what is...

This was my first visit to this hidden gem within 10 minutes from Maple Valley. The coffee is fantastic and the in house handmade breakfast sandwich is one of the best I’ve ever had. The barista was friendly, efficient and on it. I cannot speak for any of the others but Lori was 3 cars deep with a stream of cars continuing to come in and she was easily able to handle them and other people walking in with me. I’m bummed I didn’t find BGCC sooner, but I’ll be coming back often for the rest of the time I’m here...
