This will be my second time getting takeout from this particular Mancino's. I waited to write a review until I got a second takeout meal from this place, just to be sure.
At other Mancino's I've been to, when ordering a grinder for takeout, the grinder is placed in a long cardboard box (similar to a pizza box, but only for grinders). This ensures that when you open up the box to eat your grinder, the bread is still crunchy/crispy and the sandwich has that perfect consistency that a good grinder should have.
Not this Mancino's. The first time I ordered takeout, they simply wrapped the grinders in aluminum foil and put them in bags for pickup. The result was horrible... a steamy hot grinder having soggy, limp bread from being tightwrapped in foil. Gross. It doesn't matter how good the flavor is, the texture and consistency kills the experience.
"I'll just ask them to put our grinders in boxes next time," I thought. "That'll fix the problem." No such luck. When asked to put the grinders in boxes, they still aluminum foil-wrapped the grinders and then put them in normal pizza boxes. Gross.
What a disappointment. I'm guessing the dine-in grinder is still yummy because it comes out able to breathe on your plate, but as far as takeout is concerned, the Jackson Mancino's doesn't understand food quality and packaging.
For takeout, Potbelly's makes a better sandwich than this...
Read morei placed an order as soon as they opened. You'd think i would have gotten fresh quality food? I wish. my carryout order was literally pulled out of a fridge. the cheese for my chili cheese fries was cold. i counted 6 waffle fries for "1/2 pound order". the chili had a chunk of meat the size of a rock, it was also cold. The chicken in my large sub was not only cold it had bones in it. (poor quality) the only thing in my meal that was warm was the sauce in my sub. for a $25 order i was very disappointed but i couldnt help but think that when i went to go pick up my order the ONLY person who wasnt practicing safety was the OWNER of the porsche. ( i saw him pull up while i was waiting for my food). His one hostess wore a mask, except him. He interacted the whole time without one. I can only imagine how this place runs if this is the kind of leadership being given but i wont order anymore based on i cant trust this place to be accountable. That and i was told by the young lady on the phone that her boss would reach out to me, due to the poor quality of food. Still nothing. its ok. i think ive understood whats going on here. i can support other business that want...
Read moreUsed to be great… now, not so much. We used to love Mancino’s on Wildwood Ave—the food, service, and atmosphere were always exceptional. But something has seriously changed, and not for the better.
We went in on Sunday, March 30th around 4:30 PM, and I left disappointed and frustrated. The service was downright awful. Our waitress came over, took part of our order, then literally disappeared for 30 minutes. Not a word, no check-ins—just gone. We could see her in the back, seemingly more interested in flirting with the cooks than doing her job.
The food wasn’t even worth the wait this time. The only redeeming part of the whole meal? The French fries. That’s it. U It’s really a shame to see a place that used to be such a reliable favorite fall this far. I hope they turn it around, but I won’t be in any rush to come back.
Edited to add I was told to email and no resolution was reached nor an apology was given.
I won't make the mistake of patronizing this...
