TAILDRAGGERS BAR & GRILL — Restaurant in Blackman Charter Township

Airport Restaurant & Spirits is exactly what we expected it to be. A pleasant cafe, reasonably priced menu items and decent service. Hubby had the chef's salad. He was happy with it. I wouldn't have been. The ham was deli sliced/shaved ham and the cheese was cut up process cheese slices. For me, I think a chef's salad should have chunks of ham and cubes of real cheese. He liked it though and that's important.

I had liver and onions. Ok Ok, so I hear the yuks :) It was VERY good. Lightly breaded, thinly sliced and cooked the way I like it. Mashed potatoes however, ... If I had to guess I would say they were instant mashed potatoes and the gravy was a Gordon Food Services type. Neither was good at all. I should have ordered fries I guess. So 1/3 of the meal was good for me. Oh, I did have the option of the 'salad bar' too. They had just come out of a busy period I think so pickins' were slim. Run of the mill offerings nothing special.

All in all, it wasn't the best experience but neither was it the worst. Our waitress was very good at what she does. Although, I asked for iced tea because they didn't have herbal teas on hand and she said they don't have iced tea just soda :( Menu cleary lists it as a beverage.

Anyway, no high expectations so no real disappointments either

Total bill was 22.00 and...

Called in a to go order, was told 15 minutes. Got there to for it not to be ready and waited with no customers for them to screw up an order by putting something on that doesn't come on it nor did I order. I heard the cook as the waitress and she told him yes when the answer should have been a clear NO, because she asked me and I said no and it doesn't come on it. She then comes out and tells me the cook made a mistake and messed up my order and wanted to know if I would take that way or wait even longer for them to make it again. I want my money back for the one that's messed up and I will take the other order. Now she wants to discuss while I'm trying to explain to her I am in a hurry and was told 15 minutes. It's now 40 and I only have a breakfast burrito ready. I need to go. Well I got to wait another almost 5 minutes to get my money back and food. Then the burrito was an exteme disappointment when she handed me the box and it was really light and sliding around in the box. I couldn't believe I paid over $12 for a burrito no bigger than one out of the freezer section...

Wouldn't go back and recommend others to go somewhere else. We pulled up to make a curbside order, called and was instructed to go on line, place the order, identify our car, and where were parked. Did so, and after waiting an hour, called to check on the status. Was told they don't do curbside like we were told and they are only doing pick up in the restaurant. We asked if our order was sitting inside and they mumbled some excuse and said it would be right out. 15 minutes later it came out. Seems they redid my wife's toast but the hashbrowns were mushy, the omelet was like eating warm rubber, and my Havana sandwich had also obviously been sitting a while. The Havana consisted of many quarter sized pieces of meat 1/2 or more of the pieces inedible, rubbery fattey overcooked pieces. What poor service and food. Beware if you decide to try the Apron! On top of this, they forgot our fries, which after calling a third time were brought out about 15 more minutes later. Worst meal I could imagine, especially...
