Despite not living in the area, this has been one of my most visited spots whenever I am up in the northern metro for any reason, and I loved everything they have offered so far. This is truly a gem of a neighborhood Mexican restaurant that serves the local population greatly.
I think they have very juicy meat inside their tacos and they offer abundant onion and cilantro to ensure a balanced flavor. Along with lime and sauce, the tacos just taste amazing. Specifically, the quesa birria taco, even though not like other tacos, taste very flavor and juicy, and I could not get enough of it. Their platters have abundant food in them, including rice, beans, meat, and sometime vegetables (unless just lettuce), and the prices are very reasonable. I have also tried their menudo, which they served only on weekends, and as much as it wasn't for me due to me not used to the meat in there, I still had to acknowledge that it was made in very authentic ways and I knew many others would enjoy it.
Overall, definitely recommended to those that live in the northern metro! Nothing else to say other than authentic and flavorful Mexican...
Read moreI decided to give this place a shot. I ordered the Azteca Burrito, drove home, took a bite, and swallowed.
I then noticed the meat tasted REALLY off. I opened the steak burrito to find that the meat was Gray and ROTTIN with meat measles (aka TAPEWORM EGGS) riddled all over the meat. I was horrified that I had ingested this and took picture of what was inside my burrito.
I got violent food poisoning less than 24 hours after eating this. I was throwing up and had terrible abdominal pains.
My doctor is going to test for worms and proceed with deworming me if it comes to that.
I contacted the manager of the store concerning this incident and she HUNG UP ON ME. I called this establishment back only to be literally yelled at by the manager. She was yelling “you hung up on me, I did not!” Several times.
I emailed the pictures of the nasty food to the unprofessional “manager “ only to have no response. I’m going to be sharing the pictures of my food.

Read moreThird visit. My first review I gave it a 4 starts. This time after couple visits I can tell you portion size on tacos is great. They actually put a lot of meat. Tacos range from $2.00 to 2.50. Meat is definitely not a good quality. Carne asada is not steak or a poor quality steak, chorizo tastes old or refreeze, it has a extrange taste, and I love chorizo. Differents meats different queality. Is a clean place and friendly staff. But if you really want to try authentic mexican tacos with real carne asada, carnitas, chorizo, pastor, etc. Go to El taquito on Robert street at West Saint Paul. They cooked every day the asada in the grill wich has been marinated over night with a special spices. Their chorizo is the best, as well as the pastor, you wont find that type of flavor anywhere else. The meat is tender and juicy. Not in chucky pieces that you don't know what you are...
