My husband and I decided to bring our 4 year old and 18 month old daughters to Pizza Pub tonight. It was nothing but problems. First of all, what kind of family restaurant doesn’t offer children something to do while they wait?! No coloring? NOTHING?! That’s ridiculous. Then the server brought my 4 year old an OPEN CUP of lemonade. She said they didn’t have cups with lids, but the table next to us had them. Hmmm, isn’t that interesting? My husband and I each got cocktails. He got a captain coke and the coke had 0 carbonation so he sent it back (with an eye roll from the server). Got another cocktail with 0 carbonation. THEN I ordered boneless wings and a salad and told the server “you can bring everything out together”. For some reason she thought that meant to bring out both of those first, before my entire families food. The wings sat for 10-15 mins before I said something to the server. I am not going to eat my meal while my family still waits for theirs. When I told the server I didn’t understand why my food came out before everyone else’s, she said “I thought you wanted it out first”. Ummmm no. I didn’t even say that and why would I want that anyways when I have 2 small kids. They need to get their food first if anything. Then she brought out 2 apple sauce cups, but no spoons. My kids went crazy because they wanted to eat the applesauce but had no way of doing that. When I confronted the server again, she rolled her eyes, acted like she was way too busy to help us and literally walked away to take another tables order. At that point, we decided to leave without eating and go somewhere else. We sat and watched our server put in the other tables order into the POS and when she turned around, it was like she was mad at us for all this mess! I had my card out and said we’d pay for the drinks (even though my husband hadn’t even touched his) because we were leaving, she got all huffy and said something under her breath about cancelling the order and literally walked away from us!!!!! So we just left. A simple “I’m so sorry, let me get my manager” would have sufficed. I don’t know if she was so busy and flustered that she just could not be bothered for a second to provide a shred of customer service, or if she was just a bad server. Read moreThe only reason why I'd give this place even a 1 star review is because our server, Dustin tried his best. And for how busy it was he did good work. On the other hand the place currently is a failure, we showed up at 330 pm and waited twice as long as most because we had a group of 5 people. We got seated at 4:30. We were seated in a small table for 4 people and an extra chair at the end. Right by the game room. (Some kid playing hit my mom with a knife in the back) it was a butter knife and not done on purpose, but why was a kid allowed to run around with a knife especially a kids area, and no supervision from staff as far as I can tell. We sat there for 15 minutes before our server arrived, we ordered water, pop nachos and 1 beer. The sodas came quickly. The beer came after the appetizer arrived. Like 20 minutes after everyone else. Our drinks ran empty and not filled until after Dustin came to take our order. He replenished our drinks and tried his best to get the beer to us in under 10 minutes. Now we wait, 30 minutes later, a salad came, then 30 minutes after that another side salad came. Then 25 minutes after that the food arrived, everyone was happy with the salads, the taco wrap was awful, over cooked meat, and came with a tube of sour cream and hienz taco sauce?(really for 15 dollars? Also the fries that came with it were good at first, until I realized that it was cross contaminated with other ingredients, vinegar. dill, not sure what it was. But it was not threw out the fries but on portions. The lasagna was more of a soup, and the spagetti(that the server did refund only the meatballs) obviously they forgot the meatballs. It was really frustrating to watch every table around us get served, leaving and the next group get there food before we did.(granted they ordered pizzas) We spent 120 dollars, and it took 2.5 hours to get all of our food. Read moreI am sad to write this review because I was very excited to try this place but unfortunately I do not plan on returning. I understand that the Blaine location is new and it’s expected to be busy but we were treated with disrespect. We arrived around 6pm, just me and one friend, only 2 people ahead of us, got our name on the wait list and were told 20 minutes, which was completely fine, no problem, didn’t mind waiting. As we sat down to wait, several others came in and got their name on the list as well. Obviously those with reservations were sat quickly as they should be, but even some on the waiting list were seated before us. We ended up waiting a whole hour. At that point I politely walked up to the host stand, AFTER the line cleared, I didn’t budge or just walk up while others were in line, and I asked if there was any update on the wait time for my party. The young lady replied with a lot of attitude saying, “ well as you can see they are all running around and bussing tables, and clearing other things” I answered with “I understand I was just wondering if you knew anything” , she said “well you need to wait for someone else, I don’t know”. At that point I turned around and sat back down. I have been a host for 4 years at an extremely busy restaurant downtown Minneapolis, I understand busy, I get it, and I understand customer service is difficult but if this ladies job is only standing there taking names, I find it hard to believe she is the person allowed to throw attitude. She never sat people, she didn’t buss tables, she stood there, took names, and wasn’t even the ones to call out the names to help seat people. I’m extremely frustrated because I never once disrespected or gave Karen attitude and I feel like this is not a welcoming place.
