Kingdom Baking — Restaurant in Blaine

After having several people asking if I had checked it out yet, and if I do, to let them know what I think, I opted to check the place out. To put it bluntly, it was pretty disappointing. Starting on the pettier side of things, the prices were pretty high for what you get - almost $10 for a sandwich + 1oz bag of chips, $5 for a cinnamon roll about the size of a King's Hawaiian dinner roll.

More significantly though was the quality of the food and service. I ordered the Turkey Bacon sandwich. One of the first things I asked was "Am I able to get it without X?", to which the employees answered "Yeah, no problem." They then proceeded to pull a wrapped sandwich out of a refrigerator that is actually in the customer area and bring it behind the counter. Already this tells me my sandwich is not fresh - in fact, who knows long it's been in there? After getting home and unwrapping the sandwich, immediately two more quality concerns come up. According to the description, this sandwich was supposed to come on a "soft French roll" - what I got was white sandwich bread. My sandwich was pre-cut into two halves (I got a whole sandwich), but the two halves weren't even from the same sandwich initially - one half was using relatively thin slices of bread, and the other half was almost twice as thick (about Texas toast style). At this point it seems like I'm just receiving someone's leftover lunch - not made fresh, not even two halves of the same sandwich. And then I started eating it.. turns out the "Am I able to get without X?" response wasn't completely accurate - you "can", but they just take off whatever you ask for it to come without. While not always a big deal for things, if someone is asking because of a food intolerance, then it's a deceptive and potentially harmful practice. But that's not the only problem I had eating it. I ended up having to throw out large chunks of the bread - the part of a sandwich a bakery should be known for - because it was too hard to even bite into. My ordering of it was definitely not the first time it had been toasted, and this was just further proof that my sandwich was not fresh at all.

To summarize, sandwich wasn't fresh, was two halves of different sandwiches, could not be ordered without certain ingredients despite being told it could be, did not come with the advertised bread (even stranger given it was pre-made), and toasted so many times the bread was hard.

1 extra star given because the was turkey on the sandwich at least was phenomenal - very nicely seasoned...

This was a grubhub pick-up order for myself. The estimated time was approximately 18 minutes. However, it was ready within 10 minutes. I ordered the seasonal drink, lavender latte, and $5.65. I added almond milk and was charged $1.00 extra. I also ordered a caramel roll of $5.72.

The star was the caramel roll, my oh my, it was so GOOD!! Everything about it was perfect. I regret not buying another one for the following day. I'm sad to say that the coffee was a miss. I didn't enjoy my morning cup of coffee, and it was difficult to finish. It was bitter, and I didn't taste the lavender. I'll pass on the coffee next time and just enjoy some baked goods.

The owner greeted me when I walked in and had my order ready. The roll was packaged in a to go container with a fork. They have a large parking lot and a drive-thru. I recommend going in and viewing the dessert case.

I love Kingdom Baking! The employees are friendly, building is clean, food smells awesome and their sandwiches are HUGE and on fresh baked bread. Coffee stands up to Caribou or Starbucks or even Dunn Bros' best brews. I will be back as often as I can. The family has given 2 thumbs up to their scones and chocolate chip cookies, and we have also really enjoyed their tuna and turkey bacon sandwiches. Their fruit cups have really fresh good quality fruit. I have not found anything I don't like here, and I am a foodie so I have looked! I get great service every time I come here, great food/drink and that's why I come back. They are also great at responding to the drive through and no quality is sacrificed. 5 stars from the...
