JJ Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Bloom Township

Wasn’t in the mood to prepare the full holiday spread this Christmas, so I was delighted to get an ad in the mail for this jj’s location for holiday catering & deals. I’ve always preferred and recommended this location although I’ve never ordered more than just a dinner meal. I placed an order for over 50 pieces of catfish as they had a deal: 20pc for $20 which was awesome. The management and employees provided great customer service, great communication, and a contagious holiday spirit even though they were spending the holiday on the clock. The quality, size, and taste of the fish exceeded my already high expectations and I also received a courtesy call to ensure that I was satisfied with my food and if my Christmas Day was a good one. I have learned to go when they open and before noon because somehow, food starts tasting differently ... could be the use of the same utensil when getting food out or flipping/turning it 🤔 ... I've only had 5 pieces of chicken (thighs and legs only) with fries (no sauce comes with this order) ... the sauce cup is too expensive to purchase ... I have also gotten fish ... it's cool ... this place is a revolving door for cooks and person at register ... some don't speak English, so I can never get my order the way I request (lemon pepper on fries before they put chicken/fish on top) ... I had the Italian beef once because they have daily specials (never changes), and it was cool ... it's cool when you need a meal on a budget ... I just hate that we live in America and ppl can't speak or understand English 😪 ... this place was excellent before COVID, but now it just okay ......

1st order canceled because the item ordered was unavailable. That's understandable but i placed a 2nd order waited nearly 45min and then my order was canceled because they didn't have items available. All other restaurants are closed and it would been nice to receive notice of missing items before waiting 45min thinking my order was going to be delivered. To add insult the order was originally scheduled for 9:30pm. The order was pushed back to 10:15pm. I received the cancelation at 10:30pm. Not cool when you are working a double and haven't eaten all day. Better communication but I more likely will not order online...
