I am a regular customer that frequents this location once or twice a week depending on my schedule. I was very disappointed at today's service by the lady that packaged my bagels. The usual lady was not there. When I order my bagels, I usually request it in a specific order to leave the last one they touch be in a separate bag due to cross contamination for someone with allergies. I specifically asked that the cheese bagels be placed in a separate bag. I was disappointed to find out that she placed the cheese bagels in the same bag as the other bagels. Okay, everyone makes mistakes. So, I explained to her nicely that I have a child with dairy allergies. Therefore, she will have to start over and also change her gloves. She gave me the biggest attitude...to add insult to it, she said, "you're welcome" in a very condescending and rude way when I was leaving. I should have made my comments to her on the spot about the attitude, but I didn't because I am not a confrontational person, and I was in shock by her comments. On the way home, I called the store and asked for the manager to explain to her that I did not appreciate the attitude the lady gave me for asking her to start over because I have a child with allergies. Allergies are a serious matter and I hope people in the business understand that. These people with allergies can't help it. The manager initially apologized and then proceeded to talk to her staff while I was on the phone and then she just hung up on me. That was not professional. To make matters worse, I usually leave a tip with my orders for the extra work they usually have to do with my order. I will not go to a business establishment that is outright rude to their customers. They lost a very...
Read moreI decided to get bagels for the fam. I don't know why I just didn't go to my usual place; laziness I guess. I knew in the back of my mind that any time I had Bruegger's bagels, I didn't like them but I went against my instinct and bought a dozen.
I figured a shop in the middle of Bloomfield Hills must make good bagels. But my first instinct was spot on. Even Tim Horton's bagels are better than this.
Don't waste your time. There are much better bagel stores out there. This just isn't it.
I bought a baker's dozen and I had the sesame. Sesame bagels are my favorite and they have a very unique taste. Bruegger's sesame bagel tasted like chemicals. It was off. I can't pinpoint what the flavor is but it's not a sesame bagel. Plus, the bagel was flat like a blown tire. Not fluffy and thick like other places.
The woman who helped me was rude at first but I didn't react to her rudeness and she softened up a bit by the time she finished ringing me up.
This place just doesn't have a good vibe and the product is mediocre at best. Even mediocre is being overly generous.
I hate to leave bad reviews but honestly these bagels are horrible. I wish I didn't have to leave this review but with the price of everything these days, you're better off going to a grocery store and buying their bagels. It's just not...
Read moreIf you want to get treated with disrespect and unadulterated rudeness please choose this Bruegger's Bagels location for all your bagel needs. One of the employees, who was a man, approximately 30 years of age was rude to my 55 year old mother who just had knee surgery that she has vowed to never again return to this location. It was her first time in a Bruegger's and instead of explaining what they have and how they work he unnecessarily treated her with an aloofness and forced her to walk down to the end of the counter multiple times regardless of the fact that there were no other customers in line. (She tried ordering from the wrong end of the counter, "How Dare She!") However, this alone was not that nail in the proverbial coffin, no. The fact that another customer, a young, blonde, tall woman, walked in as she was about to pay and this wayward employee did not make her continue the same song and dance as he did for my mother, just showed my mother that this employee had one thing on his mind. If I could give this place less than one star, I would.
In Conclusion, the bagels are good. You just have to abandon any moral compass that you may have...
