Wow, what a wonderful spontaneous find! I called yesterday to see what kind of food they served because the reviews were impressive on Google, but some people get paid, and some times they be lying. Lol. The gentleman on the phone was so nice after I asked him 50-11 questions. I was with one extremely picky person- my cousin and my big sister who doesn't eat meat. We pulled up, and it was really cute on the outside. I told the gentleman that he would be able to match the caller (me) once he saw my big hair! Inside is real cool, inviting with a nice little photo wall. I forgot the server's name, but he was outstanding. He was taking orders for the patrons seated and to-go. The food was seasoned perfectly, and our food was hot. We saw the steam. That is a big YESSSSSSSSSSSS for us. I had the jerk chicken with collar greens and Mac. La-licious!!!! My sister had catfish, string beans, and plantains.They ran out of cabbage, but she was pleased with the string beans. My cousin (smh) had catfish, yams, rice with oxtail gravy, and greens. She also had a sample of the potato salad, which she thought was great, too. She asked for her greens to be warmed up, and our server got her another one. My sister and I both had the virgin mojitos, and they were so good and refreshing. If they had rum, baby, it would have been a situation (a great one). Honestly, it was the best virgin mojito I ever had. After a long and wild week, this was an awesome treat and a fantastic find. We will definitely be back. Either separately or together. This has been one of the most dissapointing dining experiences. After gathering my family of five to celebrate our matriarch on Mother's Day, the meal and experience was dissapointing on multiple fronts. I called the Bloomfield prior to arriving to confirm if a reservation was needed, with no response and also sent a direct message to the Instagram account where I was assured that no reservation was needed. Upon arriving, the staff asked if I had a reservation to which I pointed out I called multiple times with no one picking up the call. The waitress did agree that they had not been able to field calls and that a reservation would have been better but with a party leaving we can wait. We waited, and after 15 minutes we were seated. We placed our food order and selected the drink choices. The drinks came out and we waited for our food. Twenty minutes into our wait time, 2 of the guests sides came out. When checking in with our waitress, she assured us that the rest of the food would be arriving soon. By this time, I went to use the bathroom and came back to the waitress asking if we could select another option for our sides as the plantain had run out. In addition to this, one of my guests had to change their protein choice because the kitchen ran out chicken. We agreed and continued to wait, again being reassured that our food was coming. After 40 minutes the food began to arrive at a snails pace and to add insult to injury the entire tables food was cold, dry and underwhelming. I love the main restraunt in Linden that place is 5 🌟 this place shouldn't even get 1 star sadly. For some reason the linden location wasn't accepting orders so I decided to try the Bloomfield one that's where everything went wrong. The mac and cheese dry and stale like, rice bland the first time i had this it was spicy, fish did they find the smallest pieces in the ocean themselves or what? Normally I'd be mad but the food was so garbage that's where I should have put it from the beginning but I forced myself to eat this trash. You know like when your broke until pay day and you force yourself to eat Ramen this was like that except I felt poor after spending my hard earned money on food that left me disappointed and not happy fat girl full. You know when you look forward to something because the first time you had it was slamming. I would order from the linden location again Bloomfield never again. Linden location food is scrumptious and fresh it leaves nothing left to be desired because one fork full and your in heaven like food heaven you could imagine the taste this was not that. My husband agreed the seafood mac and cheese at this Bloomfield location looked like it was a tuna baked casserole.
