Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Bloomington

Make sure you call before you go because they closed the drive through very early and waited for 7 minutes at the drive through waiting to place my order. There were 3 other cars behind me waiting as well. I called the normal il location and was told “this franchise does not operate like they do and the S Main Street location does whatever the hell they want and due to their actions in result makes the Normal location look bad”!! The normal location employee also said the only time they close early is if the weather is bad with snow and ice but they would never close early just because it’s cold outside. As I was driving off I saw an employee driving a gold 2008-2011 Jeep Cherokee pulled out the parking lot who can attest to the line prior to closing due to having to pass the line of cars as they were making a right turn to pull out of the Dairy Queen heading in the direction away from Main Street traffic light. There was also a 2010-2014 black Toyota Tacoma parked out front of the Dairy Queen location as well. I attempted to call the s main location store twice with no pick up just constant ringing. I will make the 15 minute drive to the normal location next time instead since they respect their open and close times that’s listed on...

If I could give a zero star I would, girl at drive thru tried to steal my debit card a rush me along. Rude, lied multiple times after initially screwing up order. I asked her name she refused to give it, no name tag. Manager popped up at window tried to say she gave it back, I put my vehicle in park and refused to leave, after manager tried to rush me off. Girl brought my debit card and bent it in the middle before handing it to me and rushed of pissy. Tried to call the manager on phone she refused to talk to me thru another employee that answered. I know the restaurant business, I own one! This is a attempted theft situation. They even refused my receipt. I canceled my debit card as a precaution! Leaving this here for the owners to see other wise it would be left unknown. Who's involved, speculating, I would say all three of them. Order taker, Manager and the little short gal with the attitude. End of shift, drawer is over, I know how it works. Go online with card nobody knows. Ha Ha wrong guy ladies! 8/5/25...

I visit this location regularly. Partly because I'm an ice cream addict. But there are closer places to home if all I wanted was ice cream.

What I really love about this specific Dairy Queen is the incredible staff! Because I'm weird, I always request a straw with my blizzard lol. But I rarely have to say anything; once I've seen that staff member the first time, they do a great job remembering it in the future!

And no matter how busy it is or how late in their shift, I'm always greeted by a friendly employee (with a mask). I'm sure they're not ALWAYS thrilled with every moment of their job - I worked at another location for a short time and when it got busy, I couldn't believe how demanding just serving ice cream could be! - but from the behavior of the staff here, you'd think they never wanted to be anywhere else!
