We went for dinner last night, we come here on average of 1-2 times a month.. the first thing I noticed was the menu has TOTALLY changed, I think their jumping on the whole "let's not use punctuation and give the people very few choices because that's the cool hip thing to do" bandwagon. They no longer offer their signature pizzas, instead you have to design your own-which is a nice option- but nothing new, you could always create your own. Why take away the awesome signature pizza options you had before?
We ordered the dough nuggets, as we always do, and the serving size was easily half of what it usually is- and still $6. Ohh and the ranch they bring out with it will cost you an extra $.50.. The serving "plates" are now paper boats, again bandwagon... The food selection has been dramatically slashed, even my 6 and 7 year olds noticed that. I got the Italian beef, it was hot lunch meat on a crunchy hot dog buns. I wish I saved the reciept because they now nickle and dime everything.
I asked our server how long she worked there, she said about a year, I said ok good- what changed and why I asked her?! She said they are going for more of a "pub" feel... So "pub" means cheap paper serving boats, a slashed menu, smaller portions, nickle and diming the customer? She even told us there has been alot of complaints about the new menu/atmosphere they are trying to achieve. She also told us the servers arent happy. Of course NOT! Who wants to be a server, who relies on tips to make a living, at an establisment that is trying to squeeze out their food business?? A "pub" does not need servers, they just need bartenders. There are several good servers here and I suggest they start looking for a different job before they loose out on any more money waiting for Joe's to get their "stuff" together..
This is in an "upper" side of town, we don't want a "pub", we want what we had- a family friendly "restaurant" to hang with the family and enjoy GOOD food and a cold beer. So Joe's, what happened? Did you hire some big city firm to tell you how to make more money, did you hire a new GM with a "new vision"? Something has changed, and my family of 4 does not like it- from what our server told us we are not the only ones either. We will not be returning to this location untill they go back in time a month or two- we will try the other loaction, but it's a drive and there are a lot of other options to stop at along the way that just might catch our eye before we...
Read moreQuick and friendly service, and it was clear that the staff wanted to make sure we were enjoying our dining experience. The food was very good.
However, we had a 2 year old with us. It's a family friendly pub atmosphere, so it seemed OK to take a child. The staff was completely fine with that, but when asked for a kid's menu, the waitress simply stated that they didn't have one. Then she rattled off several choices that were on the kids menu (though there was no menu printed). We asked her about the Macaroni & Cheese. She simply stated "I don't know, it's just Mac & Cheese." Unfortunately, when it arrived, it was a different story.
It came in a VERY hot bowl. No warning from the waitress, but I found out after burning myself. Thankfully my son didn't touch it first! The cheese was white, and it ended up being Pepper Jack. It was far from "just Mac N Cheese". It was delicious, but not for my 2 year old's "refined" palette. He ended up eating the bread off of my sandwich instead.
The food was great, the service was above par, but I'm a little disappointed in the lack of interest in what a child might eat. I'm also a little alarmed that there was no warning about a bowl that was...
Read moreI was staying at Best Western and looked for somewhere to have dinner oh boy what a joke of a place and it’s a shame as on the website Joe’s pub is about supporting local businesses.
The waitress was quick with the beer drink but well trying to get a food order was a joke the staff are more interested in talking at the end of the bar than doing there job with just 3 tables.
Oh finally the burger arrived with fries the fries were good but the burger looked like 2 burnt pieces of burger dry tasteless sent it back the waitress said she would advise the manager if that was normal the so called manager never showed there face the burger came back with 2 different burgers not as bad as the first but dry tasteless and not worth the money your better of going to Wendy’s there way much better.
Not worth going back
