Captain D's — Restaurant in Bluefield

I was in a last-minute seafood mood. Being new to the area and getting used to the food is a journey in itself. It was okay. It really tasted like food from the freezer section.

It had the flavor of seafood that was placed in a box without being sealed in a bag. Which is very common at the grocery store. The french fries were basic. The crab cake had more breading than crab.

But that's not a surprise it's to be expected. The shrimp is something you'd be k on the side. Was I supposed to jam it in the corn myself 😆🤣😂?

Well, I normally order from a restaurant twice. On my second trip to this restaurant I have to say the quality went down, which is hilarious because it wasn’t that high to begin with.

the french fries we have to start with the french fries. If you have ever had kid cuisine that has the french fries in there, that is exactly what these tasted like. microwave french fries. I am too old for that type of taste in a french fry.

I understand that the economy has stretched people thin, but can we not fry the french fries. Let’s take a trip to the stuffed crab. burnt to hell, it was burnt so bad I peeled the filling out of the shell. 😂🤣😆it came out in one piece.

Let’s take a swim towards the fish. It had an under cooked taste and texture, which is odd. It would appear that everything was baked instead of fried if possible quality is not here. I recommend hiring QA to get the standards back where they need to be.

Hush puppies were basic like the green beans.

I decided to give it another try. The new menu items are tasty 😋 I didn’t get old or burnt food. Thank you for improving your quality. The new lobster 🦞 items...

I went through the drive thru for 2 simple dinners,nothing complicated. The least busy time of the day,Total wait time was 32 minutes. No apology or anything...I gave it 2 stars because the food was good, but the service was absolutely horrible.. I'll find another place for food before I sit 32 minutes in a drive thru lane. The area director of Captain D's reach out by email and assured me that the problems are being corrected. So with that being done,I understand that every place has "bad" days. I will be revisiting Captain D's again,and keep everyone updated about the service.. Update: I went to my Bluefield WV Captain D's; , the experience was so good tonight..The lady was working the drive thru and the counter .Megan was so friendly and helpful,while doing an excellent job on all orders. They definitely earned that 5 star rating back. Thank y'all so much for doing such...

Starting out , I love Capt D's . I stopped by the Bluefield , WV location this evening , pulled up to the drive thru to order , after a couple mins a male voice came across the speaker " Yeah" , that's it , no welcome , how many I help you , nothing but a " Yeah " , I ordered a 3 PC fish dinner and before I could tell him my sides a loud " and " came from the speaker . Its at that point I pulled out and left , I couldn't imagine how bad or what kind of food I would have gotten at that point . Very , very disappointed ! I can't rate the food at this point but there's no zero stars so it's a bit fat 1 star , horrible service ! I'm aware of the workforce issues we have in America right now but come on , please try and hire better people for the drive thru and front areas where manners and being polite are a requirement to stay...
