If only there were a ZERO STARS option.... Not only has the service declined but so has the food, which I got FOOD POISONING from. This used to be one my Husband and I's favorite places. I can honestly say we will never spend another penny here. The waitress was rude from the beginning and decided to completely ignore us once she saw the looks on our faces when we received our drinks and food. My Husband's michelada was absolutely gross, there was not any other flavor profile than straight chili powder and salt. It was a bitter, salty, unpleasant drink. I ordered a strawberry margarita, they did not have the tequila that I requested so I told them whatever kind they had was just fine with me then, it came out and clearly didn't have any tequila in it at all.... After inquiring about what exactly was in it, I was told that they did not put any tequila in it because they didn't have what I wanted. Keep in mind this is after we already had the conversation about them adding whichever tequila they had on hand. So they took the same margarita back and literally pours a tiny bit of tequila on the top... They clearly did not care about serving drinks that their customers would enjoy.... Then out came the food, the beans and rice were absolutely tasteless and the entrée was almost unbearably salty... It's sad that this restuarant has gone so far downhill that we will not be back, they do not care about the quality of food they are putting on their paying customers plates and considering how sick it made me I really wonder about the cleanliness of...
Read moreWe wanted to order the fried ice cream, but they were out of ice cream. Our server told us that the only dessert they had was sopaipilla (half of a crispy flour tortilla covered with cinnamon and honey). It came with a dollop of whipped cream and two strawberries. After leaving the restaurant, I realized they charged me $16.75 for this dessert, and they rang it up as a sopito. It could have been an honest mistake, but it made me not want to return. However, the food was good, and there are a variety of vegetarian options. My son had the chicken chalupa/enchilada combo, and he loved the crispy flour tortilla that came with the chalupa. My husband ordered the deluxe enchilada special, and he was surprised that it only came with one enchilada with beans and rice for $11.00. My la grande tostada was very good, and it reminded me of a taco salad. I probably won't return because I hate being overcharged. The food really is good. Just make sure to scrutinize your bill if...
Read moreI love going to Macario's! I've tried multiple things from their menu and have yet to be disappointed. I usually get a Carne Sada with no beans, the meat is always tender and well flavored, the rice is delicious and their taco shells are one of a kind and always served hot! I have lemonade on the side and they are quick to refill on your drinks as well as generous with their salsas and guacamole.
The Fajita mix surprised me because I've never found mushrooms in a fajita mix before, to be careful if you are allergic as it gets mixed in very well and there are many!
Though a hole in the wall, they are well kept, the staff are friendly and usually remember faces and their likes and dislikes, I've never sat down at a dirty table yet and I've eaten there a few times.
