We recently relocated to Bolivar Missouri, and have been sampling various venues in & around town. I have to say, 1906 is a gem! Located just off the square in the downtown area. We went this past Saturday (maybe 8pm?) and had a GREAT time! I've been watching FaceBook as the various local venues have their pages and post. Kudo's to 1906 Wine Bar & Pub for publishing their events!.. They promote having live music and we wanted to check it out! So glad we dropped in! Upon entering, we grabbed a 2 top, high top table in the front 1/2 of the establishment. Great viewing of the musicians and close to the bar. Our wait staff (Allie) came by immediately, welcomed us, indicated she'd grab some waters, and asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. We let her know it was our first time in, so we needed a couple min. She was off to get waters and menus! Debra had a glass of wine and I did a simple Jack & Ginger. Both came out quickly, and were tasty! We studied the menu, and decided on a flatbread. Debra isn't much on pizza, however, even she was impressed and loved it! The flatbread was crisp and the entre was loaded with ingredients. I think it was the 'Melz".? I highly recommend it!
Allie was engaging, attentive and checked on us through out the evening.. She offered to bring a box for the 2 pieces that we couldn't get down! haha..
While listening to the band, during breaks, we began chatting with another couple. Turns out, they were the owners of 1906 Wine Bar & Pub! (Cody and Nicole) Lovely couple! They were quite engaging, inquiring how we were doing, how was the food, etc.. We enjoyed the conversation!
When the band took a break, we opted to head home. If you haven't been to this establishment, make a point to go! We had a great experience, enjoyed the food, and the libations...
Read moreMainly just pizzas so far, a little pricey at $20 for just flatbread, but still good pizza. It is a smaller building, so can be a bit tight getting in if there's a big group at the front, but it does open up to a sorta lounge area in the back. If you don't do well with loud, just be aware of when you go, the volume on the singing when I was there was very loud, hard to have a conversation with someone sitting right next to me. That said the girls serving were great and very attentive...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped by for Lunch on a Tuesday.
We ate the Charcuterie board, the cheese flatbread and buffalo chicken flatbread.
We are foodies with extensive travel experience and we were thoroughly impressed.
Sweet tea was sweet, not bitter. Which is always a plus in the Ozarks.
We are excited for maybe more options in the future as others have mentioned. This is a town with limited options so it is nice to have this...
