Phan's Japanese Express — Restaurant in Boone

I was really excited to try this place out since it was always closed when I’d drive past. The owner was incredibly sweet and kind. She was clearly very proud of her food, her spring rolls in particular, so I ordered two spring rolls. I also got the chicken and steak hibachi and a drink. I spent around $25 in total, not cheap at all, especially when you consider the portions are very small. The hibachi is $17 and you’re not getting enough to even make that price worth it. I was willing to put the price aside and was just looking forward to the food. The rolls were amazing and her homemade sauce was incredible. But the chicken in my hibachi was RAW. I was traveling through town for work. I saw some rave reviews on this little food truck. I went there to get my dinner and I am so glad I did. It is not where you would expect to see a food truck but I have to say it exceeded my expectations. First of all the sweet lady working in the truck was one of the sweetest people I have ever seen. I hate to write this review because the food was good and the owner is so nice. But the portions are sooooooo small. The trays aren’t deep. I noticed it the second I picked up the tray (it felt really light). Asian food is usually a really good value but I feel like I got ripped off.
