I want to start off by saying that I get working in fast food sucks. It's a menial job where you're constantly put-upon, disrespected and underpaid. I also understand that the decision to move all in-store ordering to kiosks was probably made by corporate and that the employees of the store have no control over it. So please, don't take this review as me needlessly ragging on minimum wage workers because I'm entitled or have a chip on my shoulder. That isn't the case at all.
Heck, I'm not even gonna bring up the fact that my meal was missing half the extras I ordered for it.
But, with all of that said, there was a level of incompetence on display in this restaurant that I need to call out because it was actually dangerous.
During my visit, after ordering and getting my food, I started to choke. This happens from time to time, and it wasn't catastrophic. Even so, my windpipe was blocked and I needed a way to unblock it. I tried to get someone's attention so I could get a cup and some soda or water to help me swallow but everyone behind the counter had vanished completely from sight. I even placed an order at the kiosk in the hope that someone might come to help me. That didn't happen.
Thankfully, my mother was eventually able to get a cup for me, and helped me avert any serious crisis. As you'd expect, she was a little bit upset that something as simple as handing a customer a cup was made as difficult as it was by the staff. Instead of an apology, or another display of empathy, she was very rudely told by an employee -- a woman who appeared to be the manager -- to "call down." The employee repeated this multiple times as my mother attempted to express her more than reasonable frustration. And to be clear, this wasn't a helpful "please calm down so we can better assess the situation," it was a condescending demand made by an employee who was acting as though her being slightly inconvenienced was the real problem that needed resolved.
I don't expect employees to be experts in crisis management, but they really should be a bit more accommodating when potentially serious problems arise. Or, at the very least, they shouldn't treat a customer in need who is making a very reasonable request with such disrespect.
P.s.
About ten minutes after my choking episode, the cup order that I placed at the kiosk was finally called as though the whole event had never happened. So if you want an idea of how slow this restaurant is,...
Read moreAs someone who has worked in food service for many years I understand there are busy nights, big orders, or even short staff. But the experience I received this evening at this Taco Bell was absolutely awful. As we walked in there, there were other customers saying they had been waiting for over an hour for their food and just walked out. Me and my family decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because maybe they had a big order come in and were catching up. We ordered at the Kiosk, and waited about 10 minutes to receive our food (which is totally fine). When we looked in the bag everything was there accept our drinks. So we patiently waited for our 3 large drinks and one regular frozen drink. We got the 3 large drinks, but were told for the frozen drink it would be a wait because it was frozen. Which again I totally understand… but after 20 minutes of waiting and being given attitude for wanting a drink I ordered we decided to just leave without it. The worst part is there was another customer in there that said he ordered 4 burritos and only received one. I even witnessed a Doordasher waiting for new food to be made because it had been left out for an hour, and there was even a bag of food that was left out since 2:50 pm (it is currently 8pm) In regard to the store itself the men’s bathroom was flooding from the toilet and leaking into the ladies room. I am never the person to make these types of reviews, but this service and attitude is...
Read moreSteer clear of taco bell in Boonville today. By far the most despicable experience I have had there since the place opened. Cheese roll ups with more chicken than cheese. Newsflash taco bell cheese rollups are cheese only. Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes with more sour cream than Potatoes and cheese combined not to mention sour cream all over the outside of the container. Sour cream all inside of the bag. Cantina taco with minimal shreds of filling and was broken and open in the bag. I literally seen the bag get tossed on the counter when it was ready. I heard the guy upfront explain to a lady that supreme means lettuce, cheese, and mayo. Mayo? Doesn't lettuce and cheese come on regular tacos? It was to go order and I didn't see the mess until I got to my destination. When I called the manager didn't want to talk to me and whoever answered told me to call corporate then. Then manager Ryan called me back offered for me to bring it back in and they would remake it. I explained that I was already gone from Boonville. I tried to express my dissatisfaction and he hung up on me. Upon calling back he was rude, kept cutting me off, wouldn't hear a thing I had to say and again hung up on me. Definitely no customer service skills and should not be in that position. ABSOLUTELY...
