The Pirates Cove (located at the Ryan Street shopping center) is one of the better restaurants in Boonville. Offering a wide range of options stemming from your traditional fried, bar appetizers, to a build-your-own Alfredo; the cove has yet to disappoint.
They have indoor as well as outdoor seating, which is great; including a small traditional bar. There's also a separate self-service, outdoor area, that's attached to the bar.
I've eaten there a few times and plan on going back. So far I've had the Alfredo, which I got with mushrooms and bacon in lieu of traditional chicken. It was delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich I got was well made, and cheaper/healthier than a traditional burger. The chicken philly was a very generous portion for just one hoagie but I'm not complaining, as it too was more than edible. All meals are served with your choice of various sides; my preference being the seasoned fries.
I've managed to get out of there for less than $20 (including the tip) each time I've eaten there; which is great considering the quality of the food as well as portion sizes.
Between their good food, accommodating environment, and great prices I'd say The Cove is one of the best places in Boonville to eat, be it for lunch, dinner, or a date.
They also have an extensive cocktail menu, daily specials, and I saw them setting up for bingo the last time I ate there. Well worth trying if you haven't been already or are just...
Read moreVisited with coworkers for lunch after hearing about new management, but sadly had same experience as before: delicious food, lively restaurant, poor service.
Cod sandwich special was delicious, but the fries were too crunchy for me and too thin. I miss the crinkle fries!
Our experience:
There were 6 of us at our table around Noon. One waitress was running laps around the waitress serving us. Our waitress didnât show any enthusiasm or pride in her job, rather presented with a look of dissatisfaction and job apathy.
We ordered shortly after arriving and our food came out just as we ordered. After that, we never saw our server again - no refills, no one to ask how the food was tasting, no one to ask if we needed a box or were ready for our checks.
After weâd been done eating, close to 15 minutes, we see our waitress at another table and have to ask for checks and boxes. Another 10-15 minutes, checks are delivered and picked up, but no boxes and still no emotions on our waitressâ face to add to the experience - in fact it took away.
We want to support local as much as possible but continually get poor service. We wish weâd have had the other waitress who provided the anticipated hospitality to those surrounding our table in a...
Read moreI was at this place on 02-08-2025 and will never come back and do my best to pass the word about this place. We arrived it wasn't too busy several tables open. We sat down ordered are drinks and food. After about 30 min I noticed that tables were getting there food but they had came in after we did. I stopped are waitress who hadnt even been back to are table since are order and asked how much longer. She said she would check. She went into the kitchen and returned and told us that for some reason the kitchen never got are order. She told us that she put are order into the computer but for some reason the kitchen computer didn't get it. She told me she would take a little off the bill for the delay (lmao) she told us that she told the kitchen not to make anyone else's orders to get ares done. So after 15 more minutes and we noticed four more orders came out of the kitchen but wasn't are order we decided to leave. As we were walking to the door are waitress with a shitty grin says have a nice day!!! 1st if I owned this place I would hire qualified employees 2nd I wouldnt take a little off the bill it would have been free. I spent the rest of day while at the Mizzou game bashing this place with several saying they have had the...
