Thank you for sharing your experience. Here's a review based on your account:

Disappointing Decline in Service Over Three Days

I recently visited Monzon for three consecutive days. Initially, I was very impressed with the service. On the first two days, the staff was attentive and courteous, making my dining experience outstanding. However, my experience on the third day was quite the opposite.

When I arrived, the bartender was more interested in her phone than in serving customers. After waiting for service that never came, I stood up and requested a table from the host, while also mentioning the bartender's behavior. I was seated about ten minutes later and was eventually approached by a waitress who took my drink order.

Although my drink took a while to arrive, things seemed fine until I inquired about some menu items. At this point, I suspect the waitress had spoken with the bartender, as her demeanor turned very sarcastic. This was disappointing and unprofessional.

I decided to call over the manager to address the issue. The manager was very understanding and appreciative that I brought this to his attention. However, the damage was done. I felt overlooked and discriminated against by some of the staff, which seemed to be influenced by my ethnicity.

This inconsistency in service is unacceptable, especially when the initial experiences were so positive. I hope the management addresses these issues, as no customer should leave feeling gouged and...

Fresh from the Truck. Plate 1, ordered Beef Enchiladas without "cheese" sauce and Charro Beans. Steak was cut cubed, NOT fajita skirt sliced. Portion barely 2.0 oz. Server brought plate with "refried" beans. Oily, spiced how-?, no jalapenos, more like charro soup, weird taste with 1 sliver sausage, 3 pcs uncooked bacon fat, no ham hocks; greasy commercial corn tortillas. Traditional enchiladas are baked with genuine cheeses and red or green sauce - NOT served as if "street tacos" with sides of heated, canned "velveta"! Plate 2, Ordered Chicken breast with "steamed" vegetables but they were served partly scorched, "grilled". They promptly exchanged but vegies appeared to have been pre-frozen, then served "steaming" but soggy and limp. Plate 3, chicken enchiladas...ok for him. His "white velveta" sauce emitted telltale aroma of "fake" cheese to me but he ate it all. He came along hungry.

Pricey for below par quality. Place was clean and personnel, servers polite; couldn't answer some menu questions and ZERO suggestive selling or follow up until check time.

Maybe I'm too picky; or, maybe I've not adapted to what the locals think is "Mexican" food. Although mgr visited to inquire why I sent the entire plate back (twice), he was cordial and graciously discounted check; this is not a repeat place for my idea of genuine, TexMex. I'll call it "LA-NadaMex".

This place served me the toughest ribeye steak that I have ever come across. I like fajitas, and I like ribeye. I have eaten both at restaurants throughout the country. When I saw ribeye prepared as fajitas on the menu, I thought I was in for the treat of my life. It turned out to be the most disappointing meal of my life. The steak was so tough and full of connective tissue that it was inedible. The food service staff was friendly, but they saw me struggling to cut this leathery meat into bite size pieces, but did not acknowledge that anything was wrong. I just figured they must have grown accustomed to it, and I just left. I don't send food back, fearing they will contaminate food of anyone who complains. My advice is to stay away...

Very good tex mex place, I would return to again and recommend it if general Tex Mex is your thing. The guacamole was superb. Both white queso and yellow queso left me wanting a little more, but when mixed together they were fantastic. The table salsa was good but forgettable. Frozen margs are strong and taste pretty good. I got the fajitas, the shrimp were perfectly cooked, the chicken was tasty with a great smokey flavor. My buddy got the Tampiquena which looked amazing, I had food envy over his steak. The sour cream enchiladas were a little lackluster and I think it would have been better with fajitas chicken than shredded chicken. For me, overall not perfect, but just squeaks in at 5 stars.

We moved here from the DFW Metroplex and have been looking for a great Mexican restaurant with good food and vibes. This place is it!!! Salsa and chips are very good and food was awesome. Weirdly they have super good refried beans. They are very creamy and tasty;not dark and dry. I highly recommend coming here! We also tried their guacamole and loved it! They put a squeeze of fresh lemon in it! Our waiter was superb! He took very good care of us and was very personable. Restaurant is very clean.
