TL;DR – The pizza from Domino’s East Boston is always great, but frequent delivery issues, inaccurate tracker updates, wrong orders, and poor handling of the food have made it too frustrating to keep ordering.
The Handmade Pan Pizza from Domino’s is my guilty pleasure, and the food itself has always been great. Unfortunately, the delivery service from the East Boston location leaves a lot to be desired. I almost always order delivery, and more often than not, the experience is frustrating.
The Domino’s tracker usually estimates a 30-minute delivery, but I typically end up waiting 50 minutes or more. Many times, the tracker even says my order has been “delivered” long before it actually arrives, which means I can no longer see the driver’s location or get an accurate idea of when my food will show up. While the food is never cold, the expectations set by the tracker are rarely met. This is likely caused by drivers prematurely marking orders as delivered to meet delivery time quotas.
There have also been multiple times when the wrong order was delivered, such as the wrong pizza or drink. On a few occasions, the pizza has even arrived looking smooshed or as if it was shaken around in the box during delivery. In those cases where the order was wrong, the driver has to return to the store, and I end up waiting another hour or so for a replacement. Domino’s corporate has been good about addressing the issues and offering rewards points, but the frequency of these problems has made me stop ordering from this location. Not to mention the delivery fees and costs, which I know are set by corporate rather than this store, but even with “free pizza” coupons, the bill somehow still ends up around $15 for just a pizza and a 2-litre of soda.
The pizza is great, but with the constant delays, mistakes, mishandling, and high costs, the hassle just is not...
Read moreWe order from Dominos 3 to 4 times a week, we work and get home late, u guys are open, plus we love the food. I never experienced such ignorance as I did last night, your driver Josephine is something else, very nasty and rude, plus she thought I didn't understand Spanish, surprise, but I do. She say in her car for 6 minutes, came to give me my food, then noticed she was holding up traffic, so she took my food , got back in her car and made me walk to the corner to get my food, then preceded to tell me I didn't pay for it, all along she had 2 orders of ours according to her, but called someone on the phone and said the rest would be here later, I was completely confused, considering the app alerted me that she had both orders. Anyway, I called the store , spoke to the manager who offered my money back, I told him "No", I don't want my money back I want my food and not be treated so nasty, however he said my food was on the way, I happened to look outside and the food was on the steps missing one thing, on my call back the manager said it's not their policy to just leave it.. My point is Josephine was more than ignorant, I wasn't looking for a free meal, but after the 2nd time was pissed... The manager was more than understanding and beyond polite... I can only hope they educate their workers, without customers u won't have a job, I didn't spend $10, I spent $55 as I do a few times weekly, I'm in-between jobs and would love to come help...
Read moreOrdered food from here tonight. Unfortunately as the driver pulled the food out of the vehicle something dropped on the floor. No biggie, mistakes happen. She said she would go back to the store to bring us a replacement. Perfect. Over 3 hours later, still no replacement. I tried calling the delivery driver, they keep answering and hanging up. I tried calling the store several times. First (about an hour in to the ordeal) they told me that a replacement was on the way. Now, they just keep hanging up on me or place me on hold (as I write this I have been placed on hold without anyone saying anything to me). Honestly, if they had just said no replacement and refunded us, we would have been understanding (who wants to drive back for just one item). The fact that we were waiting around for it and now everyone is dodging our calls when we are trying to follow through is incredibly frustrating. Also, technically they owe me the cost of the item and my tip back. This reinforces that tipping shouldn’t be done until the service is completed (which makes it less likely that people will tip at all). I advise other to not tip in advance here. It’s dominos, I’m not expecting amazing service but I do expect to receive my items or for the phones to at least...
