I pass this little gem by many times always saying “I’ll have to try them.” Well, I wish I would have stopped sooner. The parking is easy and plentiful. But as I walked in I was greeted with a kind smile and welcome. I had a wonderful server (Maggie) who had a fresh cup of coffee in front of me as soon as I sat down. I noticed the other server being just as pleasant as mine. The ambiance is like the old style café with your counter bar and tables. Not over done with decorating but clean as a whistle. The chef is better than most Michelin star restaurants. He is the icing on this cake. How many times have I asked for a steak medium and gotten medium rare or well? I cut into this steak and it was perfect with that wonderful pink and just the right char on it. Poached eggs, also I’ve received them under cooked or over cooked, but not this time perfect whites with that oozing center that was on top of the best homemade corn beef. Most are too salty or greasy but this was once again perfection topped with hollandaise sauce to die for. Not drowning in it or a lack of it! I’m a large person but could not eat everything and needed a to go bag. Freshly sliced potato grilled and English muffin just phenomenal. Now not even mentioned I asked for an orange juice and to my delight it was freshly squeezed. Bravo chef and staff of Joe’s 320 Café! I look forward to coming back...
Read moreI'm always on the hunt for local gems and came across Joe's 320 Cafe. It is located in West Roxbury off of the main road with its own large parking lot. The inside isn't huge, but there are a decent number of tables, as well as bar seating. There were a few people inside on a Wednesday morning, but I ordered breakfast take-out. They serve lunch as well. My food was ready on time, and service was friendly.
The chicken and waffles smelled so good on the ride home. For $18, I got four waffles and 6-7 small pieces of fried chicken. For sauces, they gave me pecan maple syrup, regular syrup, and bacon sausage gravy. The waffles were fluffy and moist and paired well with the pecan maple syrup, which was not overly sweet. I wasn't able to eat the chicken right away, so I'm not sure if the outside got soft or if it wasn't crispy to begin with, so I can't speak to that, but the inside was dry. However, it was salted well, and the bacon sausage gravy was very good. This meal also came with half a strawberry, which was random (maybe it slipped in by accident).
If the chicken had been moist, this would have been a 5/5. Nevertheless, I do plan on coming back to try a few more things that...
Read moreJoe's 320 Cafe is an American style breakfast and brunch location located right off of VFW parkway, in one of the busier intersections.
We came in close to closing time, but the staff were still very accommodating and seated us quite quickly. It wasn't too crowded, but it was still a chill and nice atmosphere. Food came out quite quick, and the waitstaff took plates away quickly.
We tried the breakfast combo alongside an omelette. The waffles were perfect, and went well with the syrup they provided on the tables. Eggs were also fried to our liking, and the sausage wasn't too oily but still tasty. The potatoes were alright, felt like it could've come with something to cut through the starchy nature of the potato, but overall was still pretty tasty.
Overall, a good breakfast spot to visit for a...
