First time visiting today; food looked and smelled like it would have been good but the attitude of the host who took my order was so nasty that I returned my food just as soon as I took it out to the car. I ordered the chicken mofongo and a side of salami. I thought I was ordering mofongo con pollo (chicken on the side) my Spanish is not the best but I’m still learning. But the issue is how impatient she (the host/waitress) was with me just because I had questions. And she assumed I didn’t know what mofongo was when I was trying to explain to her what I was trying to order. Instead of listening to me she wanted to talk over me and catch an attitude. ALSO!!!! I am from the south so I don’t want to eat dry mofongo I like to put a little sauce on the top. So when I asked questions about the sauce she caught an attitude with me and stormed in the kitchen to request the sauce after I had already received my order. I was thinking they had side cups which they do because it came with a little clear cup of green vinegar looking liquid (I don’t know) I’m sorry I didn’t understand the menu but isn’t it HER JOB!!!! to show me. I didn’t once complain and say that I wasn’t going to accept the order I made. I was still going to eat the wrong order that I made cause it was Fing chicken mofongo. This place needs to check their attitude and stop assuming just because you start speaking in Spanish that I didn’t understand you also. It was a man that seemed like he was some type of authority that tried to be the median and was about to give me some creole sauce cause he saw I was upset and I’m mad I didn’t get the name of the waitress. But she was so rude and I will never order here again. That was my first time there and she just ruined it for me. My question to her, is it really worth it to run off customers just because they want...

Google Review for [Caribbean Restaurant Name], Hyde Park, Massachusetts:

⭐️☆☆☆☆

My husband and I visited this Caribbean establishment in Hyde Park today, excited to enjoy some flavorful island cuisine. Unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfying.

Our order included Mofongo with chicken, listed at $13.50 on the menu. But after requesting a white sauce, the price jumped to $29. When questioned, a staff member explained, "We use a different kind of chicken, and with the garlic white sauce, it costs more." We proceeded with the order, eager for a unique culinary treat.

The service was notably slow, with over 40 minutes of waiting without updates from the staff. Our takeout food was left unattended on the counter, forcing us to ask if it was ours.

Once home, we discovered that the shrimp was served in white sauce instead of red, and the Mofongo seemed to contain pork. After a confusing phone call to the restaurant, a staff member insisted, “That’s chicken, not pork,” despite our initial concern.

Although they offered to deliver the corrected order, the subsequent conversation was disheartening. The same staff member told me, "Mami, if you want good food, you have to pay an expensive price. If you don’t live one minute away, the food can't get to you in one minute. You have to wait.” His laughter and claim, “Customer service is number one to me,” felt mocking.

While the rice with beans and fried chicken were tasty, and my children enjoyed their food, I could not fully enjoy my meal due to these mishaps. Spending $100 for this kind of experience felt unjustifiable.

Sadly, based on our encounter, I cannot recommend this Caribbean spot, and we will not...

Unfortunately, I too, had a bad experience. I walked in & there were no bar seat which was okay but an inconvenience. I then asked the bartender to be seated. S serve came out and obliged. Once bring seat after a few moments (to long in my opinion) she brought me a menu lucky as I was standing by the bar I grabbed a Togo menu so I was already technically fine (I guess) to make a long story short; the waitress too forever to take my order the food took forever to come out she never approached me in the 40 minutes I waited about when the food would be ready. Had she done so I would’ve put in an appetizer, because that’s how long the food was taking. The fooood finally comes out and let me tell you it’s was absolutely NOT worth the wait. Absolutely everything was overcooked. & not by a little by a lot! You can tell this food was not fresh or anything near fresh. The steak was well past well and the juice it was sitting in the we’re walking sauce was just burnt tasting and rice was incredible dry. Literally the best thing on the plate was the garden salad. ON TOP of all of that the have item list on the menu that’s not available which was also disappointing. 1/10 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE.

Ps. I came here last year on my birthday and it was amazing. Sad to see the poor service...
