My daughter and myself decided to try out this new Hyde Park bar and grill for the first time on Sunday, early evening. We sat at the bar… it took a few minutes for us to be acknowledged by any service staff, but when the bartender did make contact they apologized for the delay! Their draft beer taps weren’t working, which was somewhat disappointing, as the bottle/can selection didn’t include an IPA, so I had a different bottled beer and my daughter had an ordinary cocktail. The bartender was super friendly, and a lady that seemed like a manager also made it a point to say hello, which made it feel welcoming! We ordered chicken wings, Buffalo cauliflower, and Chicken Parm….. and OMG I cannot say enough great things about the food!! Soooo good! Downsides… The music was too loud for a chilled Sunday evening, I had to shout to talk to my daughter who was sat right next to me. The decor is good, but the vibe feels more like a trendy cafe, rather than a neighborhood bar/restaurant! Hyde Park/Cleary Sq has been crying out for a friendly, inclusive, well run establishment with great food and service, (in addition to Zaz) since the demise of the Fairmont Grill…. The best service that was provided during my visit was from the Bar Bartender Carol. Carol provided top quality customer service. The bartender was prompt with our food and drink order. The Bartender interacted professionally with the customers. Although I came in a customer, I noticed something done unprofessional by Maggie(consultant) who identified herself as a consultant for the business. Maggie aggressively approached Carol in front of the customers, demanding that she stop acting in such a manner. Maggie and another Worker also stood by the bar watching the bartender, which made me uncomfortable to watch an employee get treated in such manner. I also noticed the bartender waiting for at least 10 minutes to give another customer his change,just for the customer to leave without his change. When she was told by Maggie we will give said customer his change tomorrow. I never witness the bartender act in any negative manner. I went here for breakfast. Overall, I enjoyed my experience. I am giving it 4 stars due to small details for clarification from a customer perspective. I know this is a new business and in a great location due to ample parking in the back and off the bus line. I'm rooting for its success! Two small suggestions; take off the buzzer signs on the restrooms since those no longer apply, and add a section of sides on the menu (like toast, fries, etc).

Our server was super polite and kind and attentive. There was a small misunderstanding, and it was rectified with no issue. I just wanted regular toast instead of French toast. No biggie. However, he did a wonderful job to get the correct item. I truly appreciate that.

I am going to check it out for the DJ on Saturday night and again for breakfast and to try the chicken parm. I di enjoy that they have a special menu of Haitian food, which is great for the location. I think the variety of options was diverse, and the plating was beautiful....
