Sweet Sisters Bake Shop — Restaurant in Boulder

I am from Manhattan NYC & I was highly recommended to go to Kim & Jake’s Bakery before heading out of Boulder to drive to Carbondale. I bought a variety of 4 cupcakes & 2 boxes of two different types of cookies yesterday. First of all ~ the women behind the counter who helped me were super nice & even put together a large cardboard box to put my items in because they knew I was heading out of town in my car. Second of all (& most importantly) I am a real ‘foodie’ and have lived ALL over the world (ALL continents) and ‘eaten out’ for the majority (95% of the time & I am a bit embarrassed to say that this is no exerageration!) of my adult life. Third of all I have NEVER written a review on-line in my life because I felt compelled to this one time (even though I have been asked to ~ many many many times). I eat gluten-free & I am a life long vegetarian. And I must say: THESE baked goods are hands-down! thE BEST I have ever had!!! Perfectly moist, VERY delicious, perfect texture, perfect amount of sweetness, have wholesome, natural & high quality ingredients, & MOST IMPORTANTLY ~ they ALL have thE ‘YUMMY FACTOR’!!! My wife is Gluten free. I am not. I usually hate GF products. The best ones I've found are tolerable, but disappointing. Not this place. We sampled 9 different cupcakes before ordering a birthday cake for a special birthday, and every one was DELICIOUS. Yes, even for a gluten eater.

Plus the flavors our amazing. Red wine & manchego cheese birthday cake? Who does that? My friend said it was so good it "should be a controlled substance" Flavor, consistency, moistness - all 10/10.

We bought a baguette also. My wife's grandmother was a baker, plus we've been to Paris a few times. It was Paris-level good - and gluten free. And my wife raved about the texture, the holes in the bread, and the flavor.

Lastly, I had to park a ways away & had recently had surgery - couldn't carry the cake & baguette. The woman behind the counter happily volunteered to carry that cake all the way across that parking lot to my vehicle, without question - and without being asked!!!

I'm no review fanboi, but this place is LEGIT. We will happily be back...

We had Kim & Jake's make cupcakes for our wedding and they were a hit! I'm gluten-free and I felt comforted knowing we would serve dessert I could eat but no one would know they were gluten-free and everyone would love ;) We also had vegan cupcake options which I love that they can make.

Kim & Jake's has really interesting flavors, they delivered our cupcakes on our big day, and were really responsive as I kept making updates and changes throughout the planning process. They're a wonderful family-owned bakery with a love of heart and soul and I highly recommend them to anyone.

These are my favorite cupcakes of theirs: almond poppyseed with cream cheese and the carrot cake with vanilla frosting.

Not to mention, I love buying their peasant loaf at my local Whole Foods. What a great piece of gluten-free...
