The Bog Tavern — Restaurant in Bourne

This place deserves to be a top rated restaurant. Everything they do is just one notch above everyone else. I've never had anything here that is average. The Clam Chowder is the best I've wver had. It's more of a brothy chowder and it's so full of flavor! I'm in love with the Pig Wings! We get them every time. We Also have had the Fish N Chips, the Bolognese, and the Smoked Gouda Mac N Cheese, all of which are AMAZING! Today we had the Shrimp, Scallop and Mushroom Ravioli. I've been to Italy and this.....this is a mouthgasm. Get the Pocasset Punch and you are in HEAVEN!!

UPDATE: We are only here for 7 weeks every year. While here, we eat here 1-2 times a week. We LOVE this place! Last week for lunch, we brought friends, all of whom had never been. We all bellied up to the bar to hang out with the bartender, who is a sassy broad that we love! Every person was FLOORED by this place, and we all travel for a living. We make foodies look tame.

This time, we got the Shrimp, Scallop and Mushroom Ravioli (I just can't stay away from this dish. I dream about it when I'm 2000 miles away), and the BF got the meatloaf. I made fun of him. My Mom, who cooks exactly 5 dishes, can make meatloaf. I don't condone coming to a place THIS good and getting MEATLOAF. But.....it was DAMN good! This is NOT yo mama's meatloaf! This was SO GOOD. Not sure what seasonings they use or what that gravy was, but dayum! Nice!

One of our friends got their version of the lobster roll, which was a lobster sandwich the size of your head! I mean, a full half pound of lobster!??!?! It was so big, he literally laughed out loud at the idea of trying to get his mouth around it. After a valiant effort, he was able to eat some, said it was INSANELY good, then took more than half home. He also got the homemade chips, which he said were the best chips he'd had in his whole life.

The staff rocks, the chefs are EPIC and the owner is a true sweetie. I wish nothing but good things for this business.

After years of raving about The Bog Pub in Bourne, saying how family friendly it is because of their outside sand pits for the kids to play, I will never step foot in the restaurant again. I felt so disrespected by the owner. Just one of his many nasty comments, "that my kids came through the restaurant with sand on their hands to go into the bathroom!" I was in shock, I told him that "they went into the bathroom to wash the sand off to eat dinner." Then he said he can't have kids going into his restaurant like that, saying "this isn't Chucky Cheese!". The owner even went into the men's room while my 6 year old Son and his friend were washing their hands and told them "to get out!". I told the owner if he didn't want sand in his restaurant then don't have a Sand Box for kids to play in! His other nasty comment was, "I have kids too and you know what they do when they go to a restaurant, they sit in their seats!" My kids too buddy, but when your restaurant has two sand pits for kids to play in they are going to be kids and play in the area you provided for them! Let me also say, no one was seated outside because of the bad weather that was rolling through yesterday. My kids aren't perfect but they were being good kids playing in the restaurant's play area with parental supervision. When they got out of hand I was quick to jump on them. The owner shamed his patrons and wait staff were pissed off that they were "slammed" on a busy Saturday! They don't deserve anyone's money to make people feel so...

We recently had a Celebration of Life for my mom here for lunch. We can’t say enough about the attention to detail that Michele provided. Everything was set up in front of the fireplace . The seating was 25 for our family and friends and can’t thank her enough and was such a pleasure to work with her. I just have to add how comfortable the chairs are!! Everyone is still talking about their delicious meals that they had. It was all so delicious and our server, Oliver was fantastic and worked very hard to make sure everyone got their meals in time and made sure everyone was happy with what they ordered and was only to happy to answer all questions we asked. Thank you Oliver!! Michele and Oliver get high fives from all of us and we will be back. Also compliments to the chef. High 5 five to him also. Fantastic meals!! Thank you to everyone to help make our day even more special and one we will...
