Joe’s Italian Ristorante — Restaurant in Brady

There aren't many places to eat in Brady Texas. We asked a few people for suggestions and we landed here. It's very small cute atmosphere. We were greeted right away. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. If we ere using stars for just those things I would give a 5. The reason I am choosing 1 star is the quality of food. The garlic bread rolls were hard as a rock. The side salad consisted of a handful of iceberg lettuce and 1 slice of tomato and I ring of onion. I ordered the chicken Parmigiano and my daughter had to children's spaghetti. The chicken tasted just like the breaded patties you get in the 99cent tv dinners. And after I was about 1/4 way through my meal I bit into something very hard and I pulled it out of my mouth and it was a piece of metal. No sooner did I say something my daughter bit into something hard as well. She pulled out a 1/2 inches sliver of twisted up metal. I brought it to the waitress attention and she took the metal to the back and then came back to us and explained their pasta sauce comes from a can and what we found was the shavings from the metal can from the can opener. She then asked if we wanted a replacement plate to which we both replied no. She then asked my son if he wanted a box for his meatball sub he only took one bite from which In His words he stated subway made better subs so he declined as well. Not an Italian to be found in this restaurant! DO NOT STOP HERE if you are wanting authentic Italian food. The young lady, who was very nice, said they are Albanians, an Albanian family owned Italian restaurant and it tasted like it,. TERRIBLE ! I ordered Chicken Parmigiana and it was DISGUSTING ! The chicken was NOT a fresh chicken breast, nor was it chicken breast at all! She pushed back saying it was but it is clearly some kind of chicken patty and processed poultry. It was spongy and had pockets in it clearly not chicken breast. The spaghetti sauce was an oil slick with some chopped up tomatoes and whatever else they put in it along with A LOT of sugar/sweetener in it. $14.99 and not worth a dime. They also charged me extra for using a credit card! Skip this place if you want Italian food, Pizza Hut isn't even this bad! This food in this restaurant doesn't deserve the 1...

Food was good. A wee bit expensive, but I understand a small business has expenses, and prices are up everywhere. At least this establishment diversifies the typical food offerings in Brady. My only complaint is the waitresses who don't check on customers. If you need anything, you have to go ask or pry their attention from their phones as they are holed up in a corner and in their own little world. I realize young highschool girls are utilized for economical staff, but they need it explained to them that the size of their tip is often in direct proportion to their level of service.
