When you evaluate the thing you look for in a small, local coffee shop, Blend delivers on all fronts. It's tough to find a place like this on the outskirts of the DC/NoVA metro area, but I'm glad they set up shop here to compete with the not-terribly-infrequent showings of Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks in the area. I've been coming here for a few months now since I moved to the area and pretty much refuse to go back to the traditional commercial channels of getting my coffee.
When I first came here, what blew me away was the patio space outside, which is simply amazing to use when it's nice out. People parking their bikes nearby, dogs relaxing in the sun, and the occasional chalk art from the kids really lend to a family oriented space. They even hosted a talent show for the community (Ashburn's Got Talent) that had an amazing turnout and showcasing of local talent.
The interior decor features a large exposed brick backdrop and lots of minimalist wooden fixtures without being overly gaudy. Menus on the wall and the huge calendar are tastefully curated and designed by one of the staff members, giving an immediate homey feel. Seating in generous even when busy due to lots of sq. footage in a usable format. I really appreciate the varying degrees of counter space and seating styles; the varying lengths and heights to allow for those that type, work, read, or have conversations to find the correct ergonomics. It really does just FEEL like a great coffee place!
The staff is consistently pleasant, punctual, and never afraid to strike up a conversation. I've never had a bad cup of coffee here, and really do love the varying degrees of products they offer. I wouldn't consider myself a coffee aficionado, but talking with the staff here, you can tell they are incredibly passionate about both coffee and customer service. Ask them for recommendations! And for later in the evening, there is even a small wine selection, which makes it a great spot for after dinner conversation.
I think I can classify myself as a regular here at this point, so whenever the staff inevitably reads this, I hope you guys know that I sincerely appreciate the work, dedication, and great conversations I continue to have day in and day out. I originally came here just to find a quiet spot to read comic books, and ended up finding much more. And to anyone else that happens across this, please give Blend Coffee Bar a shot if you're...
Read moreBlend is an absolute gem of a coffee shop! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with excellent service that made me feel right at home. The staff here are not only super friendly, but also incredibly cheerful, creating an inviting atmosphere that's hard to resist.
During my visit, one of the younger employees engaged me in a delightful conversation, adding a personal touch that really made my day. And speaking of personal touches, I must give a huge shoutout to Julia, one of the employees, who went above and beyond. After I requested to have my drink heated up in the microwave because it had turned cold, Julia kindly offered to make me a completely new drink. Now that's what I call exceptional customer service!
And let's talk about the coffee – oh my, it's nothing short of delicious. Blend boasts an array of unique flavors that will tickle your taste buds and leave you wanting more. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or just looking for something new to try, their menu is a delight.
Blended Coffee Shop is an absolute delight, offering much more than just fantastic coffee. Their dynamic range of events, hosted weekly, spans from lively live music sessions to engaging children's activities, and even $5 mimosa specials, and so much more creating an inviting and diverse atmosphere for everyone. It's not just a coffee shop; it's a hub of entertainment and community that keeps you coming back for more.
But it doesn't stop there – Blended takes community support to the next level. They generously allow local businesses to advertise their information, and they're a platform for sharing local events within the Loudoun/Ashburn community. This kind of engagement shows their commitment to boosting local enterprises and helping neighbors connect.
The outdoor patio with canopy seating is a fantastic addition to the experience. Not only do they have comfortable swing chairs, but there's also plenty of seating for those looking to get some work done. It's the perfect blend of relaxation and productivity.
All in all, Blend has won me over completely. The combination of excellent service, friendly staff, delightful conversations, amazing coffee flavors, and a thoughtfully designed outdoor seating area makes it a top-notch coffee shop in my book. Don't miss out on this hidden gem – it's a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts and anyone looking for a cozy...
Read moreI realized I've been coming to this spot for weeks by now, and never got a chance to drop a review. So here it is!
Blend is an up-and-coming coffee shop, and one of the best in Ashburn area. They serve great lattes, coffee, espresso, and even some breakfast items and sandwiches that I've never tried. My favorite here is the Milky Way latte -- so nice to have it your way or the highway!
So far I've come here a few times. Been blown away by the antiquated decor and the plethora of seating options they have on each occasion -- even if some of them are reminiscent of hole-in-the-wall locations.
For food, only one I've tried is Egg Sammy -- an English muffin with sriracha sauce, spinach, and egg contained within. It was decent; let's be honest, I could probably rustle up something equally as good (if not better) on an average day. It was worthwhile for a first experience however.
For lattes, they have a respectable collection of signatures, and also a rotating selection of seasonal ones -- such as the Snowy Day latte; I've tried that, but it wasn't my "cup of tea" sadly enough. I've also had Milky Way and Campfire -- with dark and light mocha, both personal favorites -- as well as the Golden Graham, Honey-Mom with cardamom, and Turtle, all of which were decent.
There is plentiful parking in the lot outside and sufficient amount of reserved spots for the place; however, my one complaint is that all are usually taken on a good day.
Also, did I mention free wi-fi?
The one thing that strikes me is the thoughtful decor and seating options. That, plus the fact that I'm an occasional repeat customer, makes me give the full stars in this review.
Overall, an enjoyable spot to get a drink in the morning or afternoon time, or to just sit back and get some work done.
Highly recommend to anyone local to the...
