Taco Bell — Restaurant in Virginia

The long-short of this review: I'm impressed. I'm so, so thoroughly impressed with the level of service we received tonight at this location.

Here's the bulked-up explanation:

My daughter, girlfriend, and I all arrived at the drive-thru sometime after midnight after a very long metro ride from DC. With it being Friday night at one of the only open food places in the area, we knew we'd be in for a wait*.

*Here's a hint (take notes, one-star/low-star reviewers): If it is any day of the weekend, if it's at peak mealtimes, and ESPECIALLY late at night, you SHOULD anticipate a wait. If you don't want to wait, eat what's in your pantry instead.

We placed our order (rather large — I apologize to the crew for that) and waited our turn in line. Sure, the line was moving rather slow, but again, as I mentioned before, this was ENTIRELY expected considering the day/time we arrived.

I am furious with myself for not catching her name, but to the cashier working the window this particular evening: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. She kept up with our entire order, modifications and all, and even after the fact, was still willing to assist me. I had been waiting at the window for maybe a couple of minutes(? if even?) when I realized I forgot to get my daughter a drink. I politely asked to place another order for the drink, and she had it up and ready for me in that instant, no questions asked. She was so positive and delightful to interact with, so I'd really like to thank her for her hospitality.

Now, here's what had me so impressed:

I've been pretty on board with the cantina chicken menu since it came out at these Taco Bell locations. However, I've always been EXTREMELY let down by another location closer to home. My home location in particular always seems very, very minimal ("skimpy") with the portions on the crunchy tacos and quesadillas. Worst of all, when I order the Cantina Chicken Tacos, I kid you not, they always look like someone beat them up before wrapping and boxing them up...

I'm happy to say that THIS location (the one I'm writing this review for) knocked it OUT OF THE PARK. My tacos were intact, my quesadilla was very filling, and the portions in the ingredients were PERFECT. Not overstuffed and excessive, but not lacking. I feel like they were made EXACTLY to the specifications that they were supposed to be. (I already said that they were intact, but let me tell you: the crunchy tacos were literally PERFECT. No broken shell, none of it!)

On top of the cantina chicken menu items being outrageously good, the rest of our order was ALSO made perfectly! All of our modifications were accounted for, all of our items were in the bag, and at the end of the day (pun intended), we had ourselves a car full of happy campers.

So, to the Ashburn Taco Bell associates, you all are doing a phenomenal job with the resources you have. I know that these rushes can be tough, that customers can be stressful, that it's easy to feel like getting out of the weeds is near impossible; just know that effort and work you're all putting into your late night crew was definitely enough. The quality of service is exactly where it needs to be. No one can ever predict when a rush will happen; but I truly believe that if the food was THIS good for my family and I, then every single person in that line definitely got home feeling satisfied with their meals...

Taco Bell, the renowned fast-food chain that has been serving Mexican-inspired food for decades, is a go-to option for a quick and affordable meal. During my recent visit to one of their locations, I found the food to be okay, but not the best.

The extensive menu at Taco Bell offers a variety of items ranging from tacos, burritos, nachos, and more. However, the quality of the food is inconsistent, as some items are better than others. While some of the dishes were flavorful and enjoyable, others were lackluster and didn't meet my expectations.

Despite the hit-or-miss quality of the food, the service at the Taco Bell location I visited was exceptional. The staff was prompt, efficient, and friendly. I was impressed by how quickly my order was prepared and delivered to me. However, the cleanliness of the restaurant was not up to par. The floors were sticky, and the tables needed wiping.

What impressed me most was the value of the food. Taco Bell has always been known for its affordability, and this location was no exception. For a reasonable price, I was able to get a decent amount of food, which is perfect for those who are on a budget.
