Terrible Customer Service; called in an order at 6:58pm for pickup. Arrived at 7:35pm (10min. After estimated completion time) and was told, we don’t have your pizza/ticket for the single large plain pie. Mistakes happen, I get it, not end of world. As I’m showing the worker my phone for proof that I called their number as they tried to say “must of called another A&G”, The boy who answered my call came over and stated yes, he took my order over the phone.
They said they’d start making a pizza. Due to travel plans for a party and the time now, only option. Totally fine but stated I’d like to speak to manager to be compensated to pay cost (not free) for the dropped ball on their end. What’s the point of calling in the order for pickup if you still show up to wait 15min. while they start the order from scratch?
This is where it gets good. The girl behind counter gives me the pizza and says it’ll be $15.40. I stated I’d like to speak which manager to let them know about the situation and I’d like to be compensated. Old gentleman (manager?) says we can do $15.00. So you make the mistake and my time is worth $.40cents? It was a laugh out loud moment. Manager states; you must of called another A&G pizza, again, I confirm their number and my 27sec call with them 2857 while the boy who took the order stands there.
At the end of the day; it’s trivial but from years of working in the same industry when younger, if mistakes like that happen (which do) I always took care of my customers. Offering $.40 cents off for the company mistake that cost me extra time and negated the whole point of calling the food in ahead of time to make the staff lives easier… disappointing.
Will be sticking to PizzaOne and Franks in Sussex County. Mistakes happen, it’s how the business reacts that makes the difference. A&G is a joke. Review is about the older gentleman manager, the not the highschool kids, I understand they don’t have the power in...
Read moreWow, what a difference a year makes. In April of 2024, I gave A&G Pizza a 1-star review after ownership had changed post-covid and the pizza quality took an extreme nosedive. I'm very happy to report the exact opposite now. I've eaten here a few times recently, and the pizza is once again top notch. I've always really enjoyed thin pizza oozing with flavor, and that is what these guys are doing well again. Delicious dough and crust too. There was also a recent remodel of the place. The tables, floors, walls, etc. have all been upgraded. Very nicely done. My only gripe preventing me from going for 5 stars - and this might just be me and my family - but we don't like being forced in close proximity to a large flat screen TV. The news was on during our most recent visit, and it's nothing I want to see or hear while taking in a meal, especially given the location of the tables and the size of the screen. We have young kids who I'd also prefer to focus on their family and food while eating, rather than the splatter of news media. The staff was kind enough to switch it off (no other patrons were around), but it's absolutely a factor for us and will prevent us from going more often. 4/5 stars. If TV isn't an issue for you, you'll definitely enjoy the food and experience. Also, the Brooklyn wrap...
Read moreVery Bad Customer Service. had to send food back for refund, called ahead to inform them, said no problem. when my daughter went back w/food as she was the one who picked it up, she was embarrassed in front of other patrons by the third degree and they had people taste some ham that they said they use in their calzones. the calzones were not hot, ham calzone was terrible and the slice of pizza was very dry like ( cardboard ) that had been sitting there all day. I called them back after hearing about my daughter's upsetting experience, the guy who answered phone said owner was tending bar and refused to talk to me. they made excuses for the pizza, said it probably sat on top of oven for 25 min. more waiting for our pickup. they gave us time frame of 15-20 min. my daughter arrived in less than 20 so time frame doesn't add up. I told him that the one slice is a bad representation of what their pizza pie would be like. I work in customer serv. all day and I would never think of treating a customer that way. I guess they feel they have get a good bar business and that their isn't any need for good food or good customer service, because it's almost impossible to screw up a beer. I don't usually write reviews but this was necessary!!!!!!!!!!
very, very dissatisfied J.R. (...
