While driving up into New York State the past 5 years I have noticed several diners along the route that appeared to be places I would like to check out when not transporting the kids in the bus. Since Victoria has a large enough parking lot to not be threatened by a bus taking up too much of the space for parking I decided to give them a try for breakfast knowing that although they had an appearance of being rather small, that shouldn't matter coming in around 10:00 on a Sunday morning when I figured it would be after the breakfast crowds and before lunch and those possibly coming in on their way home from church. Walking in my thoughts were confirmed that in fact it was small inside seating less than 50 total with about 15 bar stools and the rest at tables or booths. After driving for 2 hours to arrive the last thing I wanted to do was sit in a bar stool so I took one of the 2 open tables. When my food came out so did the crowds so I finished my meal quickly so as to provide seating but was never felt coerced into making the move to get out quickly only my choice. As for the food there did not seem to be much more difference than a lot of other diners and actually a lot less than I have found elsewhere but then it could have been since it was breakfast rather than lunch or dinner. What I ordered for my meal was okay but not something that will make me want to definitely come back again although I might since I thought the service given by the staff...
Read moreStopped there for lunch and got one of the lunch specials, a meatloaf sandwich with gravy on a Kaiser roll. The specials come with soup or salad & a side. I got the cream of turkey soup which, 1st was really hot (I personally like my soup really hot, so this was a big score)& 2nd, it was delicious! For my side I ordered fries well done (extra crispy). The sandwich came with a dill pickle slice and coleslaw. The meatloaf was really good, and the roll was really fresh. The coleslaw was also good, not too creamy or too watery, just the right balance of sweet & acidic. My only complaint would be about the fries. I asked for the fries to be well done, not only were they not well done, they were soggy and limp. The service was fast and friendly, and the bathroom was pretty clean. I would go back and try some of their smoked/BBQ specials as they usually have a smoker going out front, I would just avoid the fries and try a...
Read moreNot only is this diner adorable, the food is amazing. Prices range from a few dollars to 16 dollars depending on what you're getting. We have tried a handful of different meals and have loved absolutely everything. The staff is friendly, service is great, and food is amazing. Portion sizes are huge! We got about three meals out of our dinner meals and paid about 10 bucks a piece.
The philly cheese steak was godly! The salads are fresh and beautiful and their ranch is that delicious homemade tasting ranch that makes you want to lick the plate!
Special thanks to Krista and Joe for making our cruddy travel days turn around into amazing days with friendly service and...
