DO NOT EAT HERE! First time ordering from this place, I was told new owners are running this restaurant. Lets start with me placing an order over the phone for takeout. I called and a lady answered, I asked about Spring Rolls, if they were vegetable? she had to ask someone and told me yes. Than I asked how many in an order? again she had to ask someone. I ordered Szechuan Beef, Sesame Chicken, Fried Dumplings, Won Ton Soup and 2 Spring Rolls. The bill was $45. Mind you, I live 15 plus minutes from this restaurant, it just happened to be within the area I frequent and wanted to try it out. Picked up the food, bought it home and opened the contents of the stapled brown bags. After pulling out all my food from the brown paper bags, I notice no rice was included in my order. I called them and they told be to come back, i told them i can make rice faster than getting it from them. The apologized and told me the next 2 entrees are free. Next is the food. Lets start with the vegetable Spring Rolls, I took a bite, they were filled with chicken, not vegetable only as the girl told me. Szechuan Beef, I opened the container, first it was all soupy, could not see much until I stirred it with a spoon, found only 3 pieces of meat and a few over cooked mushy veggies. Sesame Chicken, looked like the large chicken pieces were deep friend and mixed in sweet sauce with sesame seeds sprinkled on top, horrible. The dumplings, were deep fried with a very thick batter, hard to bite into, mostly batter, the dipping sauce was plan soy sauce, not dumpling sauce (Start by dissolving a teaspoon of sugar into a tablespoon of water. Then add 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 teaspoon rice vinegar, 1 teaspoon chili oil, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds, and ½ teaspoon sesame oil). The only thing that was decent was the Won Ton soup. We paid $45 for this experience and I will never recommend or order...
Read moreNew ownership is doing everything wrong and VERY rude staff. I asked specifically for vegetarian meals and expressed to them that we do not eat Meat, fish or anything. They assured me that it was vegetarian and then brought my food home only to find that there was shrimp in my soup and was missing spring rolls and other sides that some they charged me for and others didn’t even put on my order. So clearly the person taking the order messed up. I called about the issue with the food and also missing items and the lady on the phone did not acknowledge the mistakes and offered nothing to compensate only saying “I don’t know what you want me to do about it” I told her I want them to reimburse me because they missed parts of my order completely and also made my food wrong. She got an attitude and said she didn’t have to take me being rude. I said I’m not being rude I am asking for a refund because my meals are not what I ordered and I have missing items. She got angry and handed the phone to a man who said he would refund 100% and would take up to 3 business days to refund. Well it’s now 9 days later and they didn’t refund the money like they said. Don’t waste your time if you are vegetarian! And if you are used to China Fare the way it’s been since I was a kid (decades ago made this my favorite Chinese) you won’t like the food the same or the people. The last owner was very pleasant to deal with and I never had a wrong order. Thanks for all the good food over the years this was always my favorite Chinese. However with new ownership I will not be coming back again. The old staff was amazing and never had an issue. The new staff is rude, unprofessional and disrespectful. Also $32 for the food was robbery especially since I didn’t get all of my food or it...
Read moreThe family and staff that own and operate this restaurant are extremely friendly, prompt and professional. This place breaks all the typical stereotypes of what one could sometimes expect walking into a Chinese restaurant for the first time and I mean that respectfully but I’ve eat at my share of Chinese places in my life and though the food is usually always good, the same care and attention isn’t always put towards the appearance or cleanliness of the restaurant but that’s not the case here. This place has the perfect balance of being traditionally authentic in atmosphere, warm and inviting to its guests with a very clean modern design. I think its also worth mentioning this place has what appears to be a pretty well stocked bar from what I can see which is kind of a surprise for a small town mom & pop Chinese restaurant. Another thing that stands out about this place is unlike most ethnic themed restaurants which always seem to close earlier rather then later, this restaurant stays open fairly later. As for the food, I wouldn’t expect any complaints(except maybe from those who are never happy w/ anything). It’s always consistent, you get heavy portions, it’s always served fresh and always delicious. This place is where mostly just the locals come to eat and whom have kept this place open for business year after year so that should speak for itself about...
