Village Pub Ortonville — Restaurant in Brandon Charter Township

Update: Went back and got their food this time. The rueben was REALLY good and the nachos were quite good for pub nachos. Staff was still top notch and friendly. Definitely worth a stop.

Stopped in on a random Thursday afternoon. We were killing time between two appointments and were trying to acquaint ourselves with the town. The pizza place two doors down delivers right into the bar here so we decided to do that. The place was small but nice. Tables where all high top or bar seating. The bartender and local afternoon drinkers were all very friendly and we talked amiably for a while. Our pizza arrived and sadly our appointment called that they were early so we had to eat and run. All the bartenders at this place are very friendly. Our local youth football team came here after all of our football games this season. They went out of their way to make sure that everyone had a good time. We probably had over 100 people with kids and parents. They were very nice to the kids and there is a park out back that the kids could play in while the parents ate and visited with other parents. We could watch the kids from the outdoor patio. The food here is very good but the menu is limited because they do not have a kitchen, they do cook burgers in a small oven and their BLTs are to die for. Also they do not have any issues if you want to order pizza from Papa Bellas next door and bring it inside. Lived here in ortonville for 5 years now. My husband have never ate here before, so we decided to try it as we were walking and noticed the outdoor seating. We had our dog with us and I went inside to tell them we were outside with our pup. I was told no dogs allowed outside. So, we had to leave. Mind you I’ve been to VERY few places in ortonville, Michigan and the u tied states that don’t allow dogs outdoors. And this not being fancy and a hole in the wall pub I have to say I was surprised and very disappointed. I guess other dog owners who don’t pick up after their pets or make them behave ruined it?
